This article shows clearly everything that's gone wrong with the sport of bodybuilding. Today's sport, as compared with the sport in the 70's and 80's, only cares about size nothing more. What happened to symmetry and posing? Can modern bodybuilders even do a vacuum shot? yes they're big but they look bloated and the muscle density doesn't look anything like it did in earlier eras. Arnold, Franco, Mike Mentzer and others looked like they where chiseled from granite but today's bodybuilder just look big and bloated. Arnold is, was and will always be the best.

Arnold Schwarzenegger at his peak, had an unbeatable combination of size, symmetry, and good looks. Almost all of today's "mass monsters" look like crap with their huge pot bellies. Gorging indiscriminately on fast food, pizza and ice cream, was something only powerlifters were doing in the 70's and early 80's. In the golden years, IFBB pros didn't eat 12 oz cuts of beef and chicken breasts - 10 TIMES A DAY, like Phil Heath's does in the off-season. It's no wonder they call him "bubble gut." 5-6 "small" meals a day was the standard back then, and their abdomens didn't have the distention issues that modern bodybuilders have.
