Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr, or as he is known more famously, Muhammad Ali, is an American heavyweight boxing champion and one of the most recognized sports figures of the past century. Well respected and loved by the public for his charismatic and humorous parables, as well as his efforts in bringing about racial equality, he is certainly more than the average fighter. Muhammad Ali’s Top 10 Rules For Success is a must watch video by Evan Carmichael, enjoy our breakdown of Ali’s success advice!
Have a mindset that sets you apart from your competitors. A man who thinks he can do something is miles above the man who has fear in his mind.
You have to back yourself, wholeheartedly, relentlessly and without question. Even if you are scared, even if a part of you is uncertain, be confident and fake it until you make it! The more you practice confidence the more it becomes you.
Challenge the status quo. Rules are set up to restrict and confine, make it your business to go against them. If you play by the rules, you will never be extraordinary.
People may talk badly about you when they see you making choices that aren’t the same as theirs. They may mock you, laugh at you and attempt to bring you down. Stay focused. Know what you are fighting for and stay on track.
Use your success, and your journey towards it, as a vehicle for change. When you work towards something that is bigger than yourself, you are living a purposeful life. Success is not just about what you get, it’s what you give back.
Be sharp. You can’t see what lies ahead of you in your life, but you can work hard today to ensure that whatever challenges or hurdles life throws at you, you can handle it.
No matter what happens, be a good human. Keep your integrity intact. It will help you sleep well at night.
It seems cliché, but being determined is absolutely paramount to success. When your journey gets hard, your determination and hard work is what will carry you through. You can’t be the best at what you do if you do not have the capacity to dig deep, find the place in your mind that knows you can succeed, and keep going. “Sometimes will outdoes skill”.
Find you way into the mind of your competition. Know them. Understand them. Then you will have the power to conquer them.
Famous celebrities, musicians, actors and sports people have the power to influence those around them in a charismatic way. When you are likeable, people want to know you, and they also want to listen to you. If you have a purpose and a vision to be successful, practice being the kind of person others want to be around.

great man ali,
You were an inspiration to me all of my life, and will continue to be. You were so funny, beautiful, creative, strong, unafraid, and talented. A showman, comedian, poet, early rapper, dancer, clown, teaser, activist, humanitarian, and master artist boxer. I've been rooting for you all my life. You always stood up for what you believed in, all of your life. You gave me confidence when I had little; or was losing it. You showed me how to keep fighting, even when the odds were against me, all those moments I've doubted what I was doing; questioned all the sacrifice I was giving to a goal, purpose or project. I have this poster of you up in my storage shed/workshop; it's there so your spirit can lift my spirit during really tough days & nights. I even named my art classes after your world famous, unshakable battle cry! You made me laugh, shed tears, and you always made me believe that I could be great one day too. Goodbye champ. I'll miss you.
I could not agree more. Ali inspired me my whole life. They say that a legend, icon etc comes along rarely well Ali for me belongs in the same pantheon as Bruce Lee (who I'm sure would've gone on to make the world a better place ), Elvis, Mandela etc. Ali helped me with my confidence and self belief when I was younger. I believe he was the champion of champions (no disrespect to the great sugar ray robinson ). A phenomenal leader of world peace and an inspiration to the poor and underprivileged. I could go on all night. I just want to say rest in peace champ, I will never forget you
