<h1>3 Straight-Forward Steps to Overcome Your Fears</h1>
<h2><span style="color: #3cbc87;">1</span>. The Antidote is Action</h2>
<p>Do whatever it is that you are afraid of, don’t run from your fears. Face them by taking <strong>MASSIVE</strong> action. Write out whatever it is that you are truly afraid of, that&#8217;s getting in the way of your success. The best antidote to overcome them is by direct <strong>ACTION</strong>!</p>
<p>All these slogans such as, &#8216;<em>fake it until you make it</em>&#8216; are <strong>nonsense</strong>. What matters is how decisive you are so take action <strong>NOW</strong>, it doesn&#8217;t matter what you do, do something right now, even if it&#8217;s to get a glass of water this will start the momentum towards you conquering one of your 3 biggest fears win the next 24 hours.. Now get to work.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In 2006, during a normal college football game, a routine tackle turned into a life-threatening injury. What transpired was a paralyzed right arm that ended his childhood dreams of becoming a professional instantly.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ask yourself what will happen if you don’t get back on track.. Where will you be in 3 months, 6 months or a year if you don&#8217;t change?</span></p>

<p>Today and throughout history, there have been people that seemed to accomplish the impossible. Whether it was to climb to the top of the highest mountain, sail the impossible sea, or locate a missing civilization, those individuals believed they could do something everyone else said was impossible, yet they did it anyway – and succeeded. There have also been individuals that failed to accomplish even the most basic goal. So what is the difference between these two types of people?</p>
<p>The difference between the two is confidence and believing they can accomplish whatever they set mind to. Oftentimes, people who don&#8217;t succeed at relatively easy tasks convinced themselves they would fail before they even began. Many people don&#8217;t realize that the mind is incredibly powerful and can have a real influence on behavior. Here are three ways you can stop believing you will fail, so you give yourself the best chance to succeed.</p>
<h2><b>1. Learn To Be Patient With Yourself</b></h2>
<p>Everyone must learn to crawl or scoot before they can walk, just as they must learn to read a book before they can write a novel. If you are one of those people that wants to reach for stars, but you don’t want to learn how to get there, you are setting yourself up for failure. Whether it is losing the last five pounds you want to battle, the promise to yourself about writing a chapter in your novel each day, or dedicating yourself to volunteer three evenings a week to the nearby homeless shelter, if you find yourself being too inflexible, you will become discouraged and disheartened after the first time you miss your self-imposed deadline. That will set you up to look at yourself as a failure.</p>
<h2><b>2. Accept Change To Experience Growth</b></h2>
<p>Few people like to throw their world into chaos by changing what they are familiar with, but it is often the change that causes growth. An example would be finding a job in a new city to change our lifestyle, ending a relationship with a toxic friend, or <a href="https://www.infiniterecovery.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong><span style="color: #3366ff;">getting help to end an addiction</span></strong></a>. Holding onto what is comfortable is admitting you don’t believe you can succeed in changing the pattern of destructive behavior or thought patterns that you recognize as harmful. If you don’t believe you can change, how will you ever break the pattern that haunts you?</p>
<h2><b>3. Think in Positives, Not Negatives</b></h2>
<p>When you feel down, the world looks bleak. Doors appear to be shut, time seems to drag, and everyone looks like they are frowning at you. Negative things are sure to happen in your life, but research has shown that if you expect the negative to rule your life, it will because it appears to be contagious and magnetic. That is, if you look for negativity, you will find it – and share it with others. Sadly, being blue, sad, lonely, unhappy, and grouchy are emotions that are all part of life, but they don’t have to take over your life. If you are having a bad moment, realize it is just a moment. If you expect bad days, bad weeks, or bad months, you are setting yourself up for long negative times in your life instead of a bad moment surrounded by good thoughts, laughter with friends, and relaxing hours.</p>
<p>You can’t control your entire world, but you can believe in yourself when the unexpected pops into your life to throw your world into chaos. Understand that you have the ability to react in different ways to any given situation and remember to be flexible as you keep in mind, you can do it – no matter what it is. If you take that first baby step, pick yourself up when you fall, and lean on someone for help when you need it, you can do anything you believe you can. All you need to do is stop believing you will fail and start believing you will succeed.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To not only get up in a room full of strangers but to help people make massive change is extraordinary. Luckily, you don’t have to be Tony or Jack to become an awesome public speaker. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Use these public speaking tips to get rid of the fear of public speaking and start helping others make changes in their lives. </span></p>
<h1><strong>8 Public Speaking Techniques   </strong></h1>
<h2><strong><span style="color: #3cbc87;">1</span>. Feel The Fear and Do It Anyway</strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Public speaking is one of the <span style="color: #3366ff;"><a style="color: #3366ff;" href="https://www.fearlessmotivation.com/2018/10/18/biggest-fears-in-life/">five biggest fears</a></span> in life. Most people think of top public speakers and assume that they don’t get nervous but most of them that’s not true. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One of the most sought out speakers, Mel Robbins, said she still gets nervous before every event. And she speaks all over the world! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Instead of using this fear against her, she uses it to her advantage. As she said her best-selling book, The 5-Second Rule, “Your brain doesn’t know the difference between fear and anxiety. It&#8217;s up to you to let your brain know you&#8217;re excited, not scared.&#8221;  </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The old saying, “keep it simple stupid” really applies to public speaking as much as anything. If you have a super complicated topic or a 14 step process for an audience it&#8217;ll confuse you and the audience.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">People can only consume and digest a certain amount of information in one day, especially in a multi-speaker event. Before you go on stage, remind yourself of the core message you want people to remember. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Remind yourself of how your knowledge and speech can help them take action to improve their lives. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re using any slides make sure they are simple as well. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Don’t have a ton of slides with a lot of words and graphics. Less is more when it comes </span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="color: #3cbc87;">6</span>. Use Authority To Convey Your Message <span style="color: #999999;">| Public Speaking Techniques</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re just starting in public speaking, I’m sure you are beyond nervous. But how you show up to the stage will greatly affect your confidence and ease your fears. Pay attention to your body language is impacting your message.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Your words will resonate with the audience <em>if</em> you’re physiology is the right state. Make sure your chin is up, you’re speaking confidently, and your posture matches as well. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Before you head out on stage take a few deep breaths and affirm your greatness to yourself. </span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="color: #3cbc87;">7</span>. Create a Power Ritual Before Heading On Stage </strong><strong><span style="color: #999999;">| Public Speaking Techniques</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Another awesome public speaking technique is one that Tony Robbins does before every event. Backstage, he jumps on a rebounder (basically a mini-trampoline) to adjust his physiology and increase his energy. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Then, he repeats a mantra that he’s used over and over again to get him into a peak state. Despite speaking to millions of people over 40 years he still does this simple ritual.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">While you don’t need a rebounder, you should create a similar ritual. One that builds confidence in yourself and your ability before going on stage. Whether it’s an affirmation of “I am confident, I am worthy, and I am impacting others&#8221;, physical activity or something else. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Create a trigger before speaking that builds energy and excitement. </span></p>
<h2><strong><span style="color: #3cbc87;">8</span>. Strive to Improve <span style="color: #999999;">| Public Speaking Techniques</span></strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">If you’re like most people, you want to be great at something instantly. But public speaking is like any skill, it takes time to get great. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Give yourself permission to get better over time. It’s okay if you’re not great at the start.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Steve Jobs is my favorite example of this. I’m sure you know him as the epic speaker that delivered keynotes to unveil the hottest and industry-changing products in the world. But it wasn’t always like that for Steve. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In fact, he used to get so nervous before interviews and speaking that’d he have to throw up beforehand. The thought of public speaking terrified him it made him physically sick. And now he’s regarded as one of the greatest CEO speakers ever. </span></p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Are </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">you </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">mediocre? </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">No one enjoys feeling stuck in mediocrity. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">No one wants to </span><em><span style="font-weight: 400;">admit </span></em><span style="font-weight: 400;">they’re mediocre. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Yet, many of feel that we are. So we try </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">harder. Work harder. </span></i></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">People feel mediocre because they forget (or never figured out) why they’re here, and instead of following their purpose, they’re following safety, or worse just existing.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Take an example of a business owner who is scared to branch out and instead sticks with the same, limiting, mediocre business model. </span>His new idea could catapult him into mega success but the fear of failure has arrested his progress, resulting in a much slower and more painful demise. <span style="font-weight: 400;">Or a talented employee who is suffocated in her work environment, but stays with it, because she doesn’t believe she could do better.</span></p>
<h3><span style="font-weight: 400;">Are you one of these people? </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Are you settling for less than your potential because you’re afraid? </span></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">What are you protecting yourself from? </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Pain? Failure? </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">Ok. Fair enough. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">But, what about pleasure? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">What would your life look like if you focused on your strengths, clarified your motivations, let go of cognitive dissonance, and followed your bliss? </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Bliss is following excitement—about life, work, relationships &#8230; you name it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Safety is avoiding pain. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">The former pushes us to self-actualize, fully and authentically; the latter, well, it keeps us mediocre.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Remember those times when, seemingly out of nowhere, an opportunity to transform yourself appeared and you experienced fear?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That was your higher self calling you to take your life to another level. </span><span style="font-weight: 400;">To not “just settle” for mediocrity. Because you know, you can <strong>DO MORE</strong> and <strong>BE MORE</strong>.</span></p>

<h2 style="text-align: center;"><strong>Do not settle for a minute longer. Take a look at these six steps to kill mediocrity;</strong></h2>
<h3><b><span style="color: #3cbc87;"> 1</span>. Clarify Your Purpose</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Why are you here? What gets you out of bed in the morning? Are you excited? How are you expressing your inner fire through your daily actions? A clarity of purpose inspires courage within us to follow our bliss and overcome fears.</span></p>
<h3><b><span style="color: #3cbc87;">2</span>. Take Inventory</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Write out a list of things you do on a regular basis, both personal and professional, including projects you’re working on. What are your motivations for these activities? Be honest. </span></p>
<h3><strong><span style="color: #3cbc87;">3</span>. 75% Rule</strong></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Now, test the inventory against the idea that &#8230; to avoid mediocrity, you should be giving at least 75% of yourself to everything you do with 100% being the goal, of course. If you’re giving anything on your list less than 75% of yourself, why are you settling? Could you do better? Why or why not? Be truthful. If your answer is a lot of why nots, go back to #1 or check #4.</span></p>
<h3><b><span style="color: #3cbc87;">4</span>. Dispel <span style="color: #333333;"><a style="color: #333333;" href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cognitive_dissonance" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cognitive Dissonance</a></span></b></h3>
<p><b><span style="font-weight: 400;">We are creatures of comfort, and at some point in our lives, we built a view of the world and personal goals that would deliver this comfort, this pleasure to us. For example, you grew up poor, so making money was important to you. Fast forward 20 years, and you have made some money, but something is still missing … that’s because that belief is now a trap. After all these years, that belief has become a part of your identity and since it has always been important, it must still be important. It feels that way. But what if no longer is? What if it morphed in something else? What if it never were, but was only a function of survival and not your true desire? Dig deeper for answers and be aware, the brain can play tricks on us. Something may seem so true, but it isn’t. Don’t be tricked; it will rob you of greatness.</span></b></p>
<h3><b><span style="color: #3cbc87;">5</span>. Shuffle</b></h3>
<p>After you have completed these four steps, what concrete action can you take to change your life in a way that would lead to more opportunities to give 100% and less situations where you’re trapped, out of guilt, habit, or fear, and are giving less than you could? Does that mean quitting a job, seeking out a new opportunity, starting your business, writing that book, or seizing a new adventure? Whatever it might be, this is your opportunity to step up and transform your life in a tangible way.</p>
<h3><b><span style="color: #3cbc87;">6</span>. Accountability</b></h3>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">None of us is perfect and giving 100% on a regular basis, or even realising that we’re not, and thus falling into mediocrity, can be hard to  both see and remedy alone. Therefore, I strongly encourage you to identify accountability mechanisms that would help push you to function at your 100%. These could be achieved through self-reflection, mentorship relationships, personal and professional development, a partner, and certainly a life coach. Whether you choose one or all of these, remember that the path to greatness is only, truly, possible with others by your side. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Doing what scares us is what makes us great. It <span style="color: #3366ff;"><a style="color: #3366ff;" href="https://www.fearlessmotivation.com/2018/04/09/the-next-level-motivational-video/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">forces us to level up</a></span>. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The question remains: Are you going to settle for mediocrity or pursue greatness? </span></p>

In this article we will discuss some of the leadership lessons he gained from his experience leading Korean Augmentee Soldiers and US Army soldiers in the 1990s. </span></p>
<h1><b>Do not negotiate organizational values | Combat Bullying</b></h1>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The role of the leader is to enforce the value structure of the organization. When it comes to values, you cannot negotiate. You must demand that </span><span style="color: #333333;"><a style="color: #333333;" href="https://louiscarter.com/employees-love-work/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><span style="font-weight: 400;">values</span></a></span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> are adhered to by every member of the organization. Yes, there are other matters that you can negotiate on. But when it comes to institutional values, they are not up for debate.</span></p>

<h1><b>Do not tolerate cliques or people feeling like they’re superior to others | Combat Bullying</b></h1>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Cliques and bullies can greatly disrupt the ebb and flow of any organization. Cliques prevent open communication between team members. Miscommunication can cause resentment and ultimately a barrier between members on opposing sides of the clique. If you allow cliques to operate for an extended period. The damage can become irreparable. As mentioned in the previous point, this should not be up for negotiation because cliques are generally against most organization’s values since they are not inclusive.</span></p>
<h1><b>Look for the best in people | Combat Bullying</b></h1>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tom’s Korean troops were unfortunately bullied, and ostracized by his American soldiers. His American soldiers would look down on, degrade and bully his Korean soldiers. This was a very big problem, because his Korean troops became very dejected, depressed, and even contemplated deserting or committing suicide. Tom knew that he had to do something, and do something fast. He knew that his Korean soldiers were really smart, and that they were good with technology and automation. He soon realized that the American soldiers were actually intimidated by the Koreans, and were an ego threat for them, which was why they bullied the Koreans.</span></p>
<h1>Think outside the box | Combat Bullying</h1>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tom decided to resolve this problem by turning the tables around completely. Tom required all coordination in the Korean countryside to be done in Hangul, the native Korean language. This made the American soldiers completely dependant on the Korean soldiers. Thus the Koreans eventually became the top commodity in every one of his hundred person subunits. Over the course of two or three months, Tom’s Korean troops went from being sort of second class citizens in a dysfunctional relationship with the US soldiers, to being highly valued cohesive team members.</span></p>
<h1>Conclusion | Combat Bullying</h1>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">There is a lot we can learn from Tom Kolditz’ experience in the military. We can easily re-apply his experience in our own personal lives. Whether it be in the workplace or in our personal relationships with friends and family. You must determine your organizational and personal values, and <span style="color: #3366ff;"><a style="color: #3366ff;" href="https://www.fearlessmotivation.com/2018/04/27/8-amazing-integrity-quotes-to-always-do-the-right-thing/">stick to them</a></span>. Do not tolerate bullying or cliques. And lastly look for the best in people. By changing how we deal with our colleagues, friends, and family, we are slowly but surely making the world a better place to live in.</span></p>
