Wouldn’t it be great if life always worked in our favor? Wouldn’t it be great if everything went our way? If we only had only highs and no lows. If we achieved and never failed. If we were happy and never sad? Wouldn’t it be great?

No it wouldn’t. You would never learn and you would never grow.

We all experience pain, setbacks and we all go through periods where we take a step backwards instead of forwards… Sometimes bad choices, bad habits or bad luck knock us down… the question is, are you going to stay down, or are you going to dig your way out of that rut?

Here are 5 ways to snap yourself out of a big rut!

Number 1: Get Disgusted!

Yes that is right. Get disgusted. In many cases being kind to yourself is just about the worst thing you can do if you are DOWN and want REAL CHANGE.

If your body and health is not where you want it to be… get disgusted enough that you will force yourself to change. Don’t try and cover it up… take photos of all the worst angles… show the photos to a trainer… get body fat measurements… write down all the reasons why you will not accept this ever again in your life.

If your finances are not where you want them to be… don’t blame anyone but yourself… if you’re blaming others you have no reason to change, do you??

Whatever is not good enough in your life: WRITE IT DOWN. Write it down, and then write WHY you will never accept this in your life again.

Write down “This is the lowest point in my life and NEVER AGAIN will I be at this level.”

From this moment on set a new standard for your life. Write in great detail where you will be a year from now in each of these areas that are currently unacceptable to you.

Number 2: SET YOUR TARGETS

The reason most people get in a rut in the first place is because they had NO CLARITY about where they were going.

If you don’t know where you’re going you’ll never end up where you want to be!

PLAN FOR THE LIFE YOU WANT and WORK FOR IT. Set clearly defined goals, with clear dates to achieve them, for every single area of your life that matters to you!

Number 3: PURPOSE AND MEANING!

Another reason people can end up in a big dark hole is that they don’t have a strong enough REASON to achieve in that area.

WHY? WHY must you do this? Who will it impact if you reach your potential in this area?

HOW will you feel WHEN you become this person?

Number 4: IMPROVE YOUR CIRCLE

I’m sorry, but if you want a great life, you’re not going to get it if you surround yourself with average people. If you surround yourself with drainers, your life will be drained of almost all it’s potential. Your environment matters!

In Napoleon Hills book “Outwitting the devil” he states:

“Thought-habits are stimulated by environmental influences, in other words, the material on which thoughts are fed comes from ones environment”
He says: “The most important part of one’s environment is that created by his association with others. All people absorb and take over, consciously or unconsciously, the thought-habits of those with whom they associate closely”

In other words: if you value quality of life: SURROUND YOURSELF WITH QUALITY PEOPLE.

If you want to raise your standards in any area: surround yourself with people who have those standards already. If you can’t find them immediately in person, follow them online, immerse yourself in books and audio on the subjects. You don’t have to have in-person surroundings. Immerse yourself in whatever teachings you need to get you where you must get to!

Number 5: KNOW that you deserve this!

Many people never fight their way out of that dark place because they feel unworthy.

The universal feeling of unworthiness must end, and in your bloodline it must end with YOU!

Be the one who knows their worth! Be the one strong enough to show everyone around you what a fully lived life looks like. Show everyone what a life looks like when you really fulfill your potential in life. When you no longer accept average. Average health. Average finances. Average emotions. Average anything!

Your life can change forever in this very moment. Make that decision!

Make a plan and stick to that plan! Love yourself enough to seek your greatest potential! Never stop that search!

The problem is… most people are too scared to even start… They come up with all sorts of excuses about why they can’t win… why they won’t succeed… They’ll say things like…
 “other people are already doing it”… “someone has already done it”… Sure… your passion might not be easy to get into… the business you want to start may be very difficult to succeed in… it might be a crowded space… but it’s never crowded at the TOP.

There is always room for the BEST!

There’s always room for the best…
 And you know what, there is always room to get better, even when you become the BEST.
 
 That is what the BEST do… they are always growing… always RE-INVENTING themselves.

That is why they are the BEST. They are OBSESSED. Positively obsessed with reaching the very maximum of their potential… and when they get there… they understand there is ALWAYS another level.

If one mountain is conquered… they find a bigger mountain, a greater challenge.

Before 1984 there were many great basketball players playing in the NBA… the percentage of players that didn’t make it was much higher than those who did… but that didn’t stop a man named Michael Jordan… because there was always room for the BEST.

Whatever your passion…
If you are committed to master it… if you are committed to become the LEADER…
If you are committed to become the VERY BEST at what you do… you WILL SUCCEED.
If you refuse to quit until you WIN… There’s no way you can’t win, in the end.

But most people won’t even start. And of the people that DO start most of those will quit far too soon.
They’ll see all the obstacles as unbreakable barriers rather than the mere hurdles and lessons they were sent for.

They see the big companies as undefeatable giants rather than viewing them as a Goliath… when they are the David to that Goliath.

You can defeat anyone or any group of people if you are COMMITTED to be the very best.
What can you do differently?
What can you do BETTER?
And are you willing to suffer now… to live with that PRIDE later?

AIM HIGH. BELIEVE BIG.
 It is NEVER crowded at the top.

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong, and start getting excited about what could go RIGHT!

If you are focusing on PROBLEMS you will see MORE PROBLEMS.
If you focus on possibilities you will see MORE OPPORTUNITIES.

So FOCUS on the possibilities and be READY for the opportunities that are coming in the future by doing the WORK NOW.

There is always… room for the best.
If you are committed to master it… if you are committed to become the LEADER…
If you are committed to become the VERY BEST at what you do… you WILL SUCCEED.

If you don’t at the very least BELIEVE it is possible to be the best in your field: don’t even try.
 At the very least you have to have that BELIEF and AMBITION that is is POSSIBLE.

You’ve got to at least TRY to offer something BETTER than anyone else does it… something DIFFERENT from the rest… if you don’t you’ll never BE THE BEST.

You’ve got to put in that work, master your craft.

You can do it. It is NOT impossible.
 
If you refuse to quit until you WIN… There’s no way you can’t win, in the end.

Tell them to make room for you. Make room for the BEST. And then get to WORK and EARN that spot.

If they tell you 99% fail… don’t lose faith…
 BELIEVE YOU ARE IN THAT 1%
KNOW, without doubt you will be in the 1%.
 Maybe not right now.
Maybe not tomorrow.
But in the END you will WIN.

There were no role models, it didn’t matter, I was built different.

Why is being different frowned upon by the majority? The majority aren’t where they want to be… But for some reason they still want you to be down there with them…

You should be proud to be born with something off centre. Something different from the rest… You should be glad you have a mind of your own. To have the courage to never follow a path that was paved for you, but instead choose to pave your own.

You are different. That is your greatest power. Don’t you ever forget that.

I don’t fail. I win or I LEARN. That’s the difference.

To most, failure is the end. It’s an excuse. To me, it’s a lesson. It’s FUEL to my FIRE! It’s motivation to be BETTER next time.

I don’t see things like the rest, because I don’t want to live like them. I learn from the best. And I outwork the rest. I notice what the majority do, and I do the opposite.

They’ll tell you good grades lead to a good life, but real life requires more than that. It requires self education and self awareness.
 Real growth doesn’t come from grades. It comes from within.

If you want to be like the majority, the majority who are not happy where they are in life, that’s easy… just do what they do. Focus on getting a safe education… that leads to a safe job… watch TV like they do… avoid all self development, and you’re set for life… it won’t be a happy life, but it will be an easy one… easy in the sense that you’ll never challenge your true potential… but in reality much harder because you’ll have to live with that inner knowing. The knowing you never reached that potential.

On the other hand, you can choose different.

You can choose to throw away the story. Drown the excuses and burn the limitations.

Your results in life are a direct reflection of your CHOICES. If you want better results: MAKE BETTER CHOICES. Make different choices.

Learn different. Work different. Consume different. Believe different and you will become different.

No role models. No matter. I am built different. No silver spoon. No matter. I am built different. No handouts. No matter. I am built different. No fancy education. No matter. I am built different. No easy path. No matter. BUILT. DIFFERENT.

Whatever happens, I soldier on. However dark it gets, I know the light is always on WITHIN.

I don’t focus on where I AM or how hard it is right now… I focus on where I AM GOING, and how much better it will be when I get there.

I AM BUILT DIFFERENT. I AM BUILT DIFFERENT.

I don’t complain about what I don’t have. I’m grateful for all I do have and I’m always hungry for more! BUILT DIFFERENT!

When challenges come, I don’t get scared Because I’m prepared! I’ve put in the time. No obstacle can stop me. Nothing will get me off track. I’m laser focused. Locked in on my goal.
Nothing else matters… GROW GROW GROW!

I’ve put in the time. I’ve put in the grind. I decide how far I go. Settle for average?? HAHA! NO! NO NO NO NO NO!!

My only focus: TO GROW GROW ME. Myself. My results. To become better. Not better than others. Better than yesterday. GREATER EVERY SINGLE DAY.

I DON’T MAKE EXCUSES!
I GET MY HEAD DOWN AND WORK!
THE HARDER I WORK: THE LUCKIER I GET!
I BET ON MYSELF! THE ONLY SAFE BET!
I WORK DIFFERENT!
I LEARN DIFFERENT!
I AM BUILT DIFFERENT!

I BUILT THIS MINDSET! THIS DIDN’T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT!
IT TOOK SACRIFICE IT TOOK YEARS IT TOOK BLOOD, SWEAT, AND TEARS! BUT I SHOOK IT ALL OFF AND KEPT MOVING FORWARD BECAUSE I KNEW ONE DAY… ONE DAY ALL THE WORK… IT WILL ALL PAY OFF!
MAYBE NOT IMMEDIATELY… BUT ABSOLUTELY AND DEFINITELY!

THE PROOF IS ALWAYS IN THE PUDDING AND YOU CAN NEVER FAKE QUALITY WORK! YOU CANT FAKE RESULTS!

Some people would rather steal the first place medal than EARN IT.
 But the real prize is the GROWTH that comes from EARNING IT.
 The real prize is the JOURNEY that comes from EARNING IT.


And you’ll never EARN it without ETHICS and MORALS.
 You’ll never earn respect without INTEGRITY.
 
 You’ll never have great relationships without MORALS.
 You’ll never have the support of your peers, or your team backing you without ETHICS.

The real prize is the journey, and sadly many people will never get that.

They’ll never understand doing the RIGHT THING always leads to better results.
 Doing what is right leads to better relationships.
 Better relationships lead to bigger and better opportunities and better RESULTS.


Doing what is right leads to better outcomes. Better products and services. Better and bigger referrals. It is a compounding cycle and law of nature that always comes back around.

But most people don’t have that level of patience.

 The strength to say no…

Take a good look at any successful person… any truly fulfilled person… They all have this quality. The courage to say NO when they must say no.


The strength to say no when I need to,
 The courage and discipline to stick to the path that leads to my greatest self.

Even when it is uncomfortable. Even when it means they are outcasted. Even when it means walking alone. Even when it means losing people.
 
The courage to say NO to things you know aren’t right.

The strength to say no to things that might be easy now, but have no future value.

It’s when you’re in school and all your friends start taking drugs. You know you’ll be left out by saying no, but you also know this adds no value to your future. YOU MUST SAY NO.

You might not be one of the “cool kids” now, but how cool are they going to be in the future when they’re broke drug addicts…

It’s when your friends keep bugging you to go out drinking every single weekend… but you know your future quality of life is far more important than a night out. You say NO. Or, maybe you do go out, you like your friends… but you have the strength and discipline to say NO to drinking, because you know that takes you further away, not closer to, the life you really want.

You say NO, because you know your decisions will add up in time.

Your small, consistent, strong choices will add to big results in time.
 The difference between you and others will show, because your choices are different. Every NO you make with strength and clarity will add up to one big YES in your results over time.

There’s no such thing as someone who “come out of no-where” The people you see come out of nowhere and rise to the top… they came from somewhere and their rise took YEARS. It took WORK. It took dedication and it took perseverance.

Malcolm Gladwell once wrote that to achieve greatness in any area… to become TRULY GREAT in any area… you have to put in 10,000 hours of practice.

NO ONE is BORN a SUCCESS… You must work your way there.
Most people aren’t prepared to put in 10,000 seconds let alone 10,000 hours.

It must be an OBSESSION. An obsession to be the best. The best YOU.

 Showing up every day. Not just showing up every day… but showing up with PASSION. Showing up with INTENTION.

INTENTION to learn!
INTENTION to grow!
INTENTION to get better!
INTENTION to be the very best in your field. INTENTION to get so good, NO ONE can ignore you.

It’s the ability to SACRIFICE all those things that offer you NO FUTURE VALUE so you can work toward the FUTURE THAT HAS VALUE TO YOU.

It’s the strength to follow your own path, no matter what happens.

If you’re a true winner. If you’re really committed 10,000 hours is nothing. 10,000 hours is a walk in the park. 10,000 hours is fun.
Because it’s not about how long it takes, it’s about WHO YOU BECOME… How skilled you become… how valuable you become… how many people you serve.

People who are truly committed to what they do… those who are deeply passionate about what they do… they don’t count the hours… they don’t watch the clock… The GET to work… they LOVE to work…
 and the only thing they measure… is their growth.

Throw away your new years resolutions.

They are for people who aren’t committed to LIFE LONG CHANGE. New Years resolutions are for people who aren’t serious about changing.

If you REALLY want to GROW… 
If you REALLY want a better life… 
If you REALLY want to live a greater life than you are living… You will make a commitment to yourself. 
A personal OATH… 

That EVERY DAY you will put the work in.

 EVERY DAY when you lay your head down to sleep you will KNOW that you gave everything that day.

If you really want a better life you will commit to LIVING that way EVERY DAY, not just making a small commitment once a year.



If you don’t let go of the struggle of your past, you’ll never experience the ease of your future.

If you don’t let go of the old you… 
you’ll never GROW into the NEW YOU.

 Let go of who you WERE.
 FOCUS on who you WILL BECOME.


The new year is not going to save you. Only you can save you!
 If you don’t accept full responsibility for your life… No resolution, no goal, no dream will save you.

You must take full responsibility for your life.
 For the good… AND, the ugly and inconvenient.

 You can lie to others about everything being OK… but look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself:
 Am I giving EVERYTHING?
C an I give MORE?

Taking responsibility doesn’t mean relinquishing control of your life. 
It means taking control.

It means accepting that your results to this point in your life are ALL ON YOU… and rather than complain and moan about what went wrong, FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX IT.

What can I do NOW to beat this problem?
 What can I do NOW to create a life of SUCCESS, What can I do NOW to create a life of ABUNDANCE. 
What can I do NOW to create a life of happiness… one that I AM PROUD TO CALL MY OWN?


What are the SUCCESSFUL people doing right now and how can I emulate their actions to MIRROR their success?

Successful people focus on what they can do NOW to create a better TOMORROW!



Successful people do not make new years resolutions.
 They set GOALS. They achieve their goals and then they set NEW GOALS.

Did you know that 80% of new years resolutions FAIL by February.

 80%!

 80% of people give up on their resolution after only a few weeks. 80% Throw in the towel.

 That’s just sad.

 It can’t be that important to you if you are giving up after a few weeks.

DON’T BE LIKE MOST PEOPLE. 

You’ve gotta have a greater vision for your life!

 Something that inspires you to get up and attack the day. EVERY DAY.

 A compelling future that you see for yourself that will ensure you DO NOT GIVE UP when challenges appear.

Your GOALS have to MEAN SOMETHING TO YOU!

You want money?
 WHY? 

WHY DO YOU WANT MONEY?

 It’s WEAK to say you want something without having a REASON WHY you want it! 

If you don’t know WHY you will never HAVE IT!

 If you don’t know WHY you will never FIGHT FOR IT.

If you don’t know WHY you will procrastinate… you will make excuses… you will quit… you will NOT GET IT!



You will never get there if you don’t know where “THERE”

 is.

You have to have a CLEAR TARGET… a clear PLAN of HOW and WHEN you are going to get it… and a clear REASON WHY YOU MUST HAVE IT.

That’s why new years resolutions don’t work. There’s no meaning. They’re usually just empty goals… blind targets. 

You can’t hit a target you can not see. 
You will never have it if it’s not important to you.

Remind yourself:
I AM IN CONTROL OF MY LIFE.
I DECIDE WHAT MY FUTURE WILL LOOK LIKE… And I do that EVERY DAY!
I show that through my actions every day.
I AM IN CONTROL OF MY LIFE.

I DECIDE WHAT MY FUTURE WILL LOOK LIKE… 
And I do that EVERY DAY!

I show that through my actions every day.



If it matters enough to me… I WILL MAKE TIME FOR IT! 
If it matters enough to me… I WILL PLAN FOR IT!
 If it matters enough to me… I WILL LOCK IT IN! 
If it matters enough to me… I WILL GET IT!

Define what you want!
 UNDERSTAND WHY YOU WANT IT! 
WHY MUST YOU HAVE IT
? WHY?

You must have GOALS and they must be CLEAR. 

Write down HOW you will get it.
 WHEN will you get it.

 Now, GO GET IT!



Take note of what all the unsuccessful people are doing… and DON’T DO IT.

 Take note of what the unhappy people are doing… and do the opposite.


You can be like everyone else setting those new year resolutions if you want… or, you can be like the minority… and you can LIVE WITH GOALS. LIVE WITH DIRECTION. LIVE WITH PURPOSE.
