He is a rising bodybuilding star, fitness model and currently in the running for Bodybuilding.com ‘s Spokesmodel competition.
Josiah sat down with Fearless for this exclusive interview on how he stays in peak condition year round, and what motivates him to be at his best every day.

Quick Stats.
Name: Josiah Novak (aka Josiah Fitness)
Height: 6′ 1″
Weight: 205
Peak Bodyfat % 4
Average Bodyfat % 8
Instagram JosiahFtness
Facebook: Josiah Novak
Youtube: Josiah Fitness

How did you get started with bodybuilding?

I started bodybuilding as a teenager when my parents got a divorce. I was an above average athlete but I was a skinny kid with a belly. I very self conscious about how I looked because all the guys I played sports with who were top level athletes looked much more muscular. My parents splitting up pushed me to spend time in the gym to get away from the unhealthy atmosphere in my home.

What made you decide it was time to take your bodybuilding to the next level?

After my sports career was over I decided to start building my body full time. I became a personal trainer and I studied the human body to really learn how to build muscle and create the ideal physique. I was far from perfect and I actually made some really bad mistakes but it’s been an amazing journey so far.

What sets you apart from the majority – Why have you made it so far but many struggle?

I have a drive to succeed that refuses to die. Even at my lowest points in life I’ve always felt that I am destined to reach people and inspire them. I’ve been through hell and back numerous times and I’ve made it out of some very dark places. To be still standing here tells me that I’m here for a purpose. Therefore i refuse to give up.

What type of music motivates you during training?

I love hip hop with some occasional EDM and maybe a killer rock song on the rare occasion:

-Gimme the Loot by Notoriois BIG

-How long will they mourn me? 2pac

-Jumpman by Drake and Future

Favourite Motivational Quote?

“The only easy day was yesterday” Navy Seal Quote

Favourite Bodybuilding Quote?

“The worst thing I can be is the same as everyone else. I’d hate that” -Arnold

Who is your greatest sporting inspiration?

I’m inspired by many great people who’ve achieved a lot. Arnold is number 1, but most people who inspire me aren’t in the fitness industry. Guys like Lewis Howes, Dale Partridge, and Carlton Mack all push me to be better.

Greatest Bodybuilding / Fitness Inspiration?

Arnold hands down

What would you say to someone who is possibly following your progress, and looking to reach the same level as you?

I would tell them to learn from my mistakes, always compete against yourself but never against anyone else, stay consistent, never give up and remember to enjoy the journey

What workout routine has worked best for you?

I train every body part 2-3 times per week. I love full body routines but my schedule doesn’t always allow time to do that. Lately I’ve followed a split like this:

Upper Strength

Lower Strength

Chest/Back

Legs

Shoulders/Arms

What is your favourite muscle to train?

Arms and Back!

What do you believe has been the biggest challenge in reaching your current level, both in bodybuilding

The biggest challenge has been keeping an open mind and not being afraid to try new things. Dieting and training are only as hard as you make them.

What is your diet like?

I count my macros so each day looks different. I eat a wide variety of healthy foods along with an occasional treat – but always within my macro plan.

What does your best CHEAT DAY look like?

I don’t believe in cheat meals or cheat days. That sets me up for a bad relationship with food. If I’m having a craving I’ll fit it into my macros. Or if I’m feeling run down I’ll increase my calories for a day or so. My favorite foods are truly healthy foods like potatoes, peanut butter, salmon and eggs.

Do you maintain a fairly lean physique year round, or do you really peak and cut for competition?

After years of yo-yo dieting and getting very fat – I now stay very lean year round

What is your supplementation like?

Multi Vitamin, creatine and fish oil

Something your followers may not know about you:

I actually played as a pro online poker player for a period of time – I did very well and I still miss it! I love to read and I’m also obsessed with movies and fitness fashion.

In the sport of bodybuilding, champions might be crowned under the unforgiving bright lights of the stage, in front of the crowds, and the judges, and friends, fans, and family – but that isn’t where they’re made.

Instead champions are made behind closed doors, forged in the iron fire of excruciating reps, molded by poundage’s that would crush a mere mortal, with intricate details meticulously carved in by hour after hour of sweat soaked, semi-starved cardio that takes drives forces an athlete to push themselves beyond the finite boundaries of limitations – a place where only the Fearless reside.
At last year’s NPC Nationals Middleweight Champion David Paterik’s years of blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice finally paid off in the form of an IFBB Pro card. Recently I had a chance to catch up with David in the midst of preparing for his IFBB Pro debut, and you can catch all of the details right here, in this Fearless Motivation exclusive interview.

Q.) I’d like to start by taking a step back and talking about life before bodybuilding. Before you began training, did have any sort of athletic background, or experience living a healthy lifestyle?

David Paterik – Image Credit: Instagram

A.)Believe it or not, I grew up rock climbing and mountain climbing. My father is a well-known Mountaineer in the Pacific Northwest and has traveled the world climbing peaks, frozen waterfalls and giant rock faces. He’s 57 now and in crazy good shape. Naturally, he brought me up doing it and I’ve always had some “Spidey” – like characteristics to climb well – some great memories there. I also played baseball and basketball growing up, and for 5’7″ I could jump higher than just about all my teammates, and just for the record, I still can!. I’ve always been a naturally gifted athlete. My folks handed down some pretty awesome genetics and fed us kids well. My sister is a ripped muscular beast, and used to be plastered all over the fitness magazines back in ’03 -’05. So, you could say it runs in the family.

Q.) Like many of us, you caught the bodybuilding bug by getting swept up into old muscle magazines. Who do you remember being the first bodybuilder that really inspired you to begin training?

A.) I distinctly remember as a young teen in disbelief when flipping through MD and seeing black and white Per Bernal photos of Kevin Levrone. I almost did not think it was real. But it wasn’t until over a decade later that I actually started training.

Q.) What made you decided it was time to enter into the competitive side of the sport?

A.) I started fitness modeling around 2004, traveling all over the states shooting for top name fitness photographers, and started getting published. I always handled my own prep and came in great “photo shoot shape.” It wasn’t until 2012 that many were hounding me to compete as they believed I would be very competitive. So, without too much thought, I entered the Washington State Open in 2012 as a Light Heavyweight and took second place to a very seasoned competitor, Dominick Semenza. I thought, hey, if I could come this close, I could win. So I trained my ass off for the coveted 2013 Emerald Cup and with the advice of my then coach, Brandon Lyons, I squeezed into the middle weight class and won. It was an amazing overall stage and I shared it with my best friend, Super Heavyweight Casey Bunce. Shortly after, I went on to compete at the 2013 USA’s in Vegas and took 10th place as a Middleweight. It wasn’t so much a blow to my ego, but a fire to my motivation. I went back to the drawing board, hopped on board with Coach Matt Porter, and competed at the 2014 NPC Nationals in Miami where I dominated a very strong and stacked middle weight class with a perfect score and won my IFBB pro card.

Q.) Let’s flash forward to when you made your first appearance on the National radar, back at the 2013 Emerald Cup. You entered into that show as a relatively unknown commodity, but after winning your class suddenly your name began to generate a lot of buzz in the bodybuilding world. Take us back to that show and talk about what you remember feeling after you walked offstage having won your class at one of the biggest amateur contests in the country.

A.) The Ecup, as I like to put it, is definitely a high profile regional/state show that has had many incredible competitors who have later turned pro. Seattle has some badass bodybuilders! I think after I won my class, I proved it to a lot of people, (my family mostly) that I could make a career out of this. My dad was in the crowd and it was his first show attendance. He told me that after seeing me win, he finally could understand what I was doing and began to really pay attention to my bodybuilding career. It opened his eyes. As far as the bodybuilding community, I definitely made a name in the northwest. It was my first win and I was feeling amazing. The trophy is still displayed in my home.

Q.) A few weeks later you packed up and headed south to take on some of the best amateur athletes in the sport at the USA Championships, where you placed top ten in your very first National level contest. Looking back, what would you say was the biggest lesson you learned during that 2013 contest season?

A.) Biggest lesson learned was, “I’M AMONGST THE BEST IN THE COUNTRY AND I HAD BETTER STEP UP MY GAME.”

Q.) The following year, in 2014, we saw you return to the stage at NPC Nationals, bigger, harder, and arguably the most conditioned athlete in the entire show. What changes did you make during the offseason to spur such dramatic improvements?

A.) Honestly, I just trained with more intensity and had a will to win. I had a taste of glory before and I wanted it again. My training had so much purpose and through it, I just grew and got much better in a little over a year.

Q.) Your offseason work paid off in spades because not only did you take the stage dramatically improved, but you also dominated a very tough Middleweight class on your way to winning your IFBB Pro card. What was the first thought that ran through your head after hearing your name announced as the winner?

A.) The real shock was at pre-judging when I got first callouts. They put 6 of us through all the poses once, put me in the middle, posed us a second time and then told me and one other, Tank Moore, to exit the stage. I didn’t know what to think! I turned to the expeditor and he said, “Dude! You’re done! Go back stage!” Tank and I shared an unforgettable moment as we knew we were in the top 2 spots and soon to be IFBB pros. The next day, I was awarded 1st place at the night show and I can honestly say, it changed my life man.

Q.) Now that you’ve managed to reach the summit of one of the sport’s biggest proverbial mountains, how to you keep yourself motivated to continue pushing to reach new heights?

A.) PRO DEBUT MAN!!! The big leagues! More motivated than ever. I have lots of work to do before I step on the pro stage in 2016. And I love the fact I have something worth working for. That and having a crazy hot wife and precious daughter is also great motivation to kill it and provide daily. We also have a boy on the way due in late November 2015.

Q.) What type of music do you listen during training?

A.)I’m a fan of music in general so quite a wide variety from hard core metal, (Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch) to some classic Van Halen and Boston. Little to no hip hop but if I do, it’s 90’s hip hop….THE REAL HIP HOP.

Q.) Is there anyone you’d like to thank for helping you reach this point in your career? When can we expect to see you take the stage next?

A.) I’d like to graciously thank my sponsors Inner Armour Sports Nutrition, Icon Meals, War Hammer Gym Gear and FitMark Bags. They have believed in me and supported so incredibly. My amazing wife for sticking by my side and seeing my vision and all the awesome fans I have made and met through the years. Love you guys. You can expect me to make my pro debut at the Vancouver Pro in 2016. And Corey, I’d like to thank you for all the support you’ve shown as well brother. Thank you.

Once David made the decision to start taking the necessary steps toward achieving his dream, it was only a matter of time before the lines of possibility began to blur and he crossed over into uncharted territory that few have ever truly dared to venture in to. And now that he’s already impossibility into a liar once, it doesn’t seem so far-fetched that we might see him do it again on the Mr. Olympia stage sometime in the very near future.

6 Steps To Massive Arms Like Hercules Dwayne Johnson With These Simple Exercises

What inspired you to start weightlifting? For most of us, it was to build massive arms. They’re the first thing most people notice, so they’re also the first thing most people work on. The idea of achieving monster arms like Dwayne Johnson is a powerful motivation.

Build Arms that get attention

Whilst the best physique is a well rounded one, the fascination for defined arms never disappears. There are hundreds of exercises, all claiming to be the best for your arms, and new workouts appear every day. How do you know where to start?
The good news is you don’t need a lot of complicated equipment. With a barbell, a pair of dumbbells, a bench, and the right attitude, you can build the arms you’ve always wanted.

Keep it Simple With These Six Exercises

The arms are made up of the biceps, the triceps, and the forearm muscles. The forearms can be worked on, with exercises like wrist curls and farmers walk, but many bodybuilders work these with compound lifts, such as deadlifts and bench press. For this reason, we’re going to focus on hitting the biceps and triceps hard, with the exercises that are the most effective at isolating these muscles.

Biceps

Barbell Curl

The classic, and a staple of any good arm workout. The upper arms should stay still, and resist the urge to lean back or swing the bar. Your bicep should be doing the work, not your back and not momentum. Raise the bar as high as it’ll go without moving the upper arms, give those biceps a squeeze, then slowly lower the bar back to the starting position.
The main benefit for the barbell curl is how adjust your grip width allows you to isolate different parts of the bicep (a two headed muscle). A wider grip will put the focus on the inside of the biceps, and a close grip will switch it to the outside.

Dumbbell Hammer Curls

Dumbbell curls are a fantastic way to isolate each bicep, with each arm having to pull its weight. However, unlike traditional dumbbell curls, we’re going to use hammer curls. Keep your palms facing inward (as though holding a hammer, get it?) instead of facing up.
This has the benefit of working the bicep brachialis, a smaller muscle that hides beneath the biceps which adds to the overall appearance of the arms. Again, no swinging, no leaning back, no upper arm movement. Flex at the top, then slowly return to the beginning position.

Chin Ups

Trainer Dan Trink believes the chin up is the best exercise for the biceps, as well as a favourite with the calisthenics crews. Grip a pull up bar, with the palms facing in toward you. Hang from the bar, with your arms straight. Lift yourself up, until your chin is over the bar. Pause at the top, contracting the bicep. Very slowly, lower yourself until you’re back at full extension, then start again. No kipping or swinging, no matter how much you want to. Hitting double digit reps? Time to add weight, using either a dipping belt or weighted vest.

Triceps

Seated Tricep Press

Find a seat with back support for this one. Lift up a dumbbell over your head with both hands, your arms fully extended and the plates resting on the palms of your hand. This can get a bit awkward, especially when lifting heavy, so you may want to get someone to hand you the weight to get you started.
In a controlled manner, slowly lower the dumbbell behind your head, keeping your upper arms still and your elbows close to your head. At the bottom of the movement, breathe out and use your triceps to bring the dumbbell back over your head.

Close Grip Bench Press

Beware, the first time I thought I’d be able to lift similar to what I bench press. I was in for a shock. Start light, maybe 50% of what you normally bench, just to get the feel. After a few weeks I got it up to 80%, but don’t expect to get to 100%. This moves a lot of the weight off the pectorals and onto the triceps, and you’ll never be able to lift as much with your triceps as you can with your pecs.
Lie on the bench and use a close grip (clue is in the name people). The hands don’t have to be touching, but close enough so your arms stay right in, unlike the traditional bench press. For me, the hands are about 6-8 inches apart, although that may be different for you. Lower the weight to your chest, keeping your elbows in tight to your body. Pause with the weight touching your chest, then raise the bar and extend your arms fully.

Dips

Legendary bodybuilder Mike Mentzer said that if there was only one upper body exercise he could do, it would be dips. Dipping stations are great, but you can use any surface where your hands can rest at the same height. For bonus points, gym rings will make your muscles work extra to overcome the instability.
Keep your arms in, no flaring elbows! Lower your arms until the arms are bent more than 90 degrees, then lift yourself up and straighten your arms. To keep the focus on the triceps, keep your body as upright as possible (leaning forward works the chest more).

The Recipe for Success

There you go. Six simple exercises in a workout routine that will work your arms and get your guns looking like The Rock, Dwayne Johnson. Don’t be fooled though, there are no shortcuts. These may be simple, but that doesn’t make them easy. Put in the hard work, ***FOCUS***!!! keep your nutrition controlled, and you too can have the arms you always wanted.

Lyrics – I Am A Machine (Made From Iron) – Gym Motivation Speech

When you walk through those doors you can’t be human anymore
A human effort is not good enough
You have to become a beast
You must turn into a beast
A machine.

Every muscle, every bone, every particle inside my body dreads the moment when i walk through those doors…
For they know…
They will not escape unharmed.
If they leave without pain i have not done my job.
I always do my job.
I GET THE JOB DONE
EVERY TIME. EVERY DAY
NO EXCUSES.

Repeat after me:
I am reborn
I am a machine
I am no longer human
I am a machine, relentless, unstoppable.
And the gym is my battlefield!

I am a machine, my mind body and soul are perfectly in sync.
I can achieve anything I program my mind to.
I can do anything I program my mind to do.
I am everything I say I am.
I will become everything i believe i will become

There are many trials and obstacles that stand before me on this battlefield but I will conquer them all and leave nothing standing.
I am 100% focused on my mission
I am aware I may encounter distractions or outer interference but I will not be deterred.
I will not be knocked off my course.
I will remain focused until I have completed my mission successfully

The gym is my life
It’s more than lifting, it’s therapy.

I am a machine. Made from iron.

I am a machine.
I have no limitations.
I do not rest.
I don’t get tired.
Rest is for the weak
Tired is for the weak
This is my kingdom.
This is what i live and breathe.
You think you can outwork me?
THINK AGAIN
I love this.
THIS IS MY LIFE!
You think you can stop me. No chance

I am a conqueror a dominator, a destroyer.
I destroy everything in my path.
I earn my stripes. I know respect is not given. I am a mirror of the hard work i put in. and no one puts in more hard work.
You can not hide the hard work
It is on show 24/7

I thrive in battle
I love the struggle, the strain.
Miss a day… HUH…
I don’t think so.

i grind when you hide
i push when you stop
i don’t stop when you push
i workout when you sleep
Clanging and banging is music to my ears.

The extra mile is standard. i will do 10 extra miles
Better than yesterday… YES
Extra reps… YES
Always pushing the limit… YES

I am a machine
Made from iron

I am a machine, my mind body and soul are perfectly in sync.
I can achieve anything I program my mind to.
I can do anything I program my mind to do.
I am everything I say I am.
I will become everything i believe i will become

Live your dreams
Be fearless

And through the lens of bodybuilding the world has gotten an up close and personal look at some the most remarkable physical specimens to ever walk the planet.

But even in a world where looking extraordinary comes as par for the course, there exists a handful of athletes who have stood head and shoulders above the rest, earning a well-deserved space on bodybuilding’s Mount Rushmore.

To quote the legendary French general Napoleon Bonaparte “Greatness be nothing unless it be lasting”. And in the long and storied history of bodybuilding there are six athletes whose greatness is so truly transcendent that it has left a lasting legacy that will extend far beyond their days of competition.

Check out this exclusive Fearless Motivation list featuring the greatest bodybuilders of all-time:

Ronnie Coleman

The discussion about who’s the greatest bodybuilder of all time begins and ends with one Ronald Dean Coleman. Coleman’s resume’ will reside in bodybuilding folklore as one of the most staggering displays of absolute dominance that we’ll ever see. During his career King Ronnie rang up a record tying eight consecutive Mr. Olympia titles, a 2007 Arnold Classic title, and twenty-six pro victories – a record that, in all likelihood, will stand the test of time. And as if his records alone weren’t enough to solidify his greatness, his legacy certainly is. Ronnie Coleman single handedly redefined muscularity in bodybuilding by raising the bar for excellence at the 2003 Mr. Olympia contest, where a 287 pound Coleman stepped onstage and shattered the limits of possibility by bringing a look to the stage that many historians have called the greatest of all time. And even now in retirement, over eight years removed from the stage, King Ronnie still remains the most popular champion the sport has ever seen.

Jay Cutler

We have a tendency in sports to use the number of championships as an athlete has won as metric for measuring greatness. And with four Mr. Olympia’s and three Arnold Classic trophies lining his trophy case, Jay Cutler is without a doubt one of the dominant forces that the sport has ever seen. Had Jay not competed during the same era as the greatest bodybuilder to ever walk the planet – Ronnie Coleman – the argument could be made that Cutler’s reign of dominance would’ve been greater than anything we’d ever witnessed in bodybuilding. And while his legacy on the stage is one that bought him a first class ticket to the bodybuilding hall of fame, his work away from the sport as a global ambassador that helped spread the message of physical culture across the globe as bodybuilding’s first multimedia mogul was the driving force behind the explosion of the sport’s popularity throughout the early 2000’s.

Dorian Yates

The era of modern bodybuilding as we know it today – an era of jaw dropping muscularity and razor sharp conditioning – was officially ushered in by the fiercest competitor to ever take the stage, 6x Mr. Olympia champion Dorian Yates. “The Shadow” didn’t just raise the standard bar, he punted it into the stratosphere, doing what every transcendent champion in sports has ever done by forcing the game to adapt and evolve around his greatness. In addition his dominance on the stage, Dorian’s Blood and Guts training style, which was adapted from the work of legendary muscle mad scientist Arthur Jones, revolutionized the way athletes trained in the gym, and left behind a legacy that has extended to every corner of the globe, far beyond the bodybuilding stage.

Dorian Yates – Image Credit: Borscience.co

Phil Heath

By the time his career is all said and done, current reigning and defending 4x Mr. Olympia Phil Heath could retire as the greatest champion the sport has ever seen. At just thirty-five years old, Heath is already well on his way, and if he successfully defends his title again this year, he’ll join a very exclusive club in bodybuilding alongside Lee Haney, Ronnie Coleman, and Dorian Yates as the only athletes in the sport’s history to capture five or more Olympia titles. Despite his moniker, “The Gift” hasn’t been handed anything in bodybuilding. And his journey to the top of the sport has seen him defeat two former Mr. Olympia title holders, and square off against an athlete in Kai Greene who might just be the best athlete in the history of the sport to never win its top honor. Through his first four years as champion Phil hasn’t displayed any chinks in the armor, or shown any signs of slowing down, seemingly rewriting the records books with each passing year. And if to breeze through unscathed, we could see him collect his record breaking 9th Sandow Trophy before the ripe of old of forty.

Is Phil Heath the Greatest Bodybuilder Of All Time?

Lee Haney

Following the retirement of Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1980, the sport o bodybuilding found itself in search of the next great star who would take the torch and lead the next generation of athletes. And they didn’t have to wait very long because in 1984 a twenty-five year old South Carolina native by the name of Lee Haney took hold of the title and didn’t let go until 1991 when he retired from the sport with a record eight consecutive victories. Haney’s combination of size, shape, and symmetry remain unparalleled even to this day, leaving many classical bodybuilding fans to dub Haney’s physique as the apex of greatness. During his reign has champion Haney’s face became synonymous with bodybuilding worldwide, appearing on magazine covers, television shows, and even gaining presidential recognition for his efforts when former United States president Bill Clinton appointed him chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

Lee Hanley – Image Credit Pintrest

Arnold Schwarzenegger

Long before his days as the Governator, and before he became an international movie star, Arnold Schwarzenegger was the face of bodybuilding during the height of its popularity in America. In his prime “The Austrian Oak” was nearly unbeatable, winning shows across both Europe and the United States, including an incredible seven Mr. Olympia titles. And while his contributions to the competitive side of the sport have been well documented, it was the overwhelming force of his personality, not to mention his statuesque physique, which helped spark a fitness craze, and the subsequent boom in the rise of the fitness industry, during the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. Even to this day, almost forty years removed from his last competition, Arnold still remains the most revered figure in all of bodybuilding.

Arnold – Is He The Greatest?

Conclusion

The sport of bodybuilding has produced some of the most incredible, awe-inspiring physiques that the world has ever seen. Yet even in in the IFBB pro league, a place that is quite literally a league of extraordinary gentleman, the names Coleman, Cutler, Yates, Heath, Haney, and Schwarzenegger rise above the crowd as true pillars of greatness that will stand the test of time.

Kai Greene vs Phil Heath – Whose Side Are You On

Every superhero has an arch nemesis.
And in the bodybuilding world if we cast reigning and defending four-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath in the role of Superman, then the dubious role of Lex Luther falls to the man who has been the primary threat to the crown since he ascended to the throne, none other than “The Predator” Kai Greene. And while the deeply insightful, and often philosophical, Greene can hardly be categorized as a “villain”, the divide between the two athletes, their camps, and their fan bases certainly has a bit of a Good vs. Evil narrative to it.

On one side you have King Phil, whose meteoric rise to the top of the sport couldn’t have happened more perfectly if it was scripted. Back in 2003 a raw but talented Phil Heath took to the bodybuilding stage for the first time at the NPC Northern Colorado, where none other than future four-time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler just so happened to be the evening’s featured guest poser. Right then and there Cutler famously anointed Phil as a future Mr. Olympia – and twelve years, one pro card, and four Sandow trophies later not only has Jay’s prediction come to fruition, but Phil has evolved to become the global face of the sport, and firmly cemented himself as bodybuilding’s version Superman, while everyone else in the sport tugs on his cape and tries to desperately to catch up.

On the other side of the coin we have Kai Greene, whose journey to the pinnacle of the sport has taken him down a long, dark road that played a complex role in developing his Predator persona. Raised on the streets of Brooklyn, Kai was forced to fight, scratch, and claw his way out of a place where only the Fearless survive – using the gym and bodybuilding as outlets to provide small sparks of light in a world that was otherwise filled with darkness. Unlike his counterpart who seemed to have the proverbial stars align and seas part for him to make a direct sprint to the throne, the world placed boulder after boulder in Kai’s path at each and every turn. But instead of breaking his spirit and causing him to give up, Kai channeled his rage, using each rock as a stepping stone on his own personal path to greatness.

Kai v Phil – TIME FOR WAR – Bodybuilding Motivation Video

A few weeks from now these two mighty advisories will find themselves in an all too familiar position as they square off for the fifth straight year on the Olympia stage.

Only this time the stakes will be higher than they’ve ever been before, with both men standing at a fork in the road, their legacies determined by which path they take. With a win Phil will find himself in exclusive company as one of only four athletes in the history of bodybuilding to have claimed five Olympia titles. And perhaps more importantly he becomes the author of his own destiny, continuing his quest to rewrite the records books by becoming the greatest champion the sport has ever seen.

For Kai, this year’s showdown against his arch nemesis might just be the defining chapter in his legacy. Should he managed to do the impossible and pack a Kryptonite punch powerful enough to knock King Phil from his throne he’ll launch himself into the record books as one of the sacred few to ever hold the title of Mr. Olympia. However, if he comes up short and finds himself relegated to the bridesmaid position once again his window of opportunity will officially slam shut, and he will join the ranks of an infamous club in bodybuilding of great athletes who ended their careers one Sandow Trophy short immortality.

Both are champion athletes, and both deserve huge respect for where they are in their sport, but with such a divide in the 2 camps, the question is; whose side are you on?

The ENORMOUS SATISFACTION you get when you look at yourself in the mirror and you KNOW…

YOU KNOW…
Without a doubt…
YOU ARE SELF MADE
Your place has been earned
Your place is deserved.
Theres no better feeling.
Thats how bad i want this.
I want it more than anything or anyone.
There is no plan B
There is no falling back.
There is only one option
How to: Train and Grow Like Kai Greene

Kai Greene is a professional bodybuilder who possesses an incredible amount of lean muscle mass. The most impressive facet of Kai’s physique is his incredible leg development and impeccable conditioning.

Kai achieved this physique with an incredible training routine that rivals any bodybuilder in history.

Kai pays very close attention to his diet and training throughout the year and this is evident in his world-class size and conditioning. This article is going to break down some of Kai’s signature training tips, and discuss how to eat and grow like Kai Greene.

How to Train and Grow Like Kai Greene: 7 Part System:

Part One: Compound Overload

The 1st part to training and growing like Kai Greene is you need to establish a workout regimen that puts a lot of overload on your body’s largest and strongest muscle groups.

Kai puts a lot of emphasis on exercises like the barbell squat, hack squat, barbell deadlift, stiff leg dead lift, bench press, and barbell row.

The major aspect that separates Kai’s training is he emphasizes the negative, or eccentric portion of the repetition, which is where you break down the maximum amount of lean muscle tissue, which results in growth and repair.

By keeping his repetitions in the 8-12 range but still going heavy and focusing on the negative portion of the repetition you can expect quick results from this type of routine.

Part Two: Lactic Acid Training

Lactic acid training is a type of training where you are performing a lot of repetitions with constant time under tension. This recruits the fast twitch muscle fibers and increases the HGH output.

This type of training helps with overall conditioning and is an excellent complement to heavy overload training. It’s also a great style of training to develop the smaller shaper muscle groups such as rear delts, biceps, and calves.

Part Three: Leg Day Twice a Week

Kai Greene has some of the most impressive legs in the world and its certain that he does not skip leg day. In fact – Kai typically hits leg day twice per week and dedicates an entire regimen to quadriceps and hamstrings.

Part Four: Short Rest Times Between Sets

Shorter rest times between sets allow Kai to get in extra cardio each workout and help with his overall level of conditioning.

When Kai is preparing for a bodybuilding competition he will emphasize cutting his rest times in half to emphasize conditioning and fat burning.

Part Five: Fasted Cardio and Abs

Kai has been known to perform some fasted cardio and abs workout routines when he is dieting down to competition level body fat percentages. By not only shortening his rest times between sets, but throwing in fasted cardio – Kai is able to walk on stage with an incredibly low percentage of body fat.

Part Six: Proper Rest and Recovery

While Kai is known to be a workaholic in the gym, he typically devotes an entire workout day to 1 or 2 muscle groups at the most. This means that he is resting a muscle group up to 5 days between training sessions.

Many bodybuilders over train and do not understand the proper rest times for a muscle group after an intense training session.

Kai has been able to implement intense training with smart rest times between training sessions to maximize his results.

Part Seven: Nutrition is Key

Kai follows a very disciplined diet when preparing for a bodybuilding competition and closely adheres to the rules of macronutrient timing.

Kai ingests many fast absorbing carbohydrates following a workout and sticks to lower glycemic carbohydrates at all other times to maximize muscle building post workout and fat loss at all other times of the day.

Besides proper carbohydrate timing – Kai makes sure to ingest at least 1.5 grams of high quality protein per lb of bodyweight and also eats around 0.5 grams of healthy fats per gram of bodyweight to boost natural hormone levels.

Lyrics for BEAST MODE / Do You Even Lift Gym Motivational Track:

Are you going to be a LION or a sheep ?
The king of the jungle or another insignificant NUMBER in the herd.
A respected boss or slave to a boss.
A LEADER or a FOLLOWER

Do you Even Lift
DO YOU EVEN LIFT?
Do you even Grind?

It Aint been easy
An EPIC, ROCKY ROAD,
In the toughest of moments
FLICKED ON BEAST MODE
NOW IT is different
NOW IT’S MY day
RISE up, Grind out
I WILL Find a way!

The easiest thing to do is to GIVE UP
The hardest thing is to KEEP GOING when the chips are down.
TO KEEP PUSHING when things are hard.

Oh yeah it’s easy to put on the happy face when everything is going well.
What about when you are facing pain, defeat, failure?
What have you got INSIDE?
Have you got the STRENGTH TO CARRY ON?
Do you have the WILL to FIGHT BACK?!!

Body screams “NO MORE”
Soul says “cut the chitter chatter”
I came to LIFT & GROW
NOTHING ELSE MATTERS
YOU BEEN WRONG BEFORE BODY
YOU SAID I HAD LIMITATIONS
TILL I PUSHED YOU PAST THEM
AND EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS
NOW I’M TELLING YOU SOMETHING!
IT’S TIME TO PUSH! IT’S TIME TO GROW!
ITS TIME TO UNLEASH MY FRIEND.
HIS NAME IS “BEAST MODE”.

You see everyone wants to be a beast.
That is, Until it comes time to do what real beasts do.

Real beasts work harder than anyone else.
They rise earlier.. they go down later.. they push harder.

THEY GIVE MORE AND THEY GET MORE.
Real beast don’t take S**T from nobody.

PLEASE FORGIVE ME GYM,
FOR I WILL ABUSE THIS IRON…
I FLICKED THE SWITCH
NOW YOU SOUND THE SIREN!
BANGIN AND CLANGIN
DOMINATE THIS DAY.
ULTIMATE GOAL
BETTER THAN YESTERDAY

You are not doing anyone any favors by dropping down to the level of the average human
You DO NOT WANT AVERAGE
You are anything but AVERAGE!

IT’S TIME FOR DISCIPLINE!
SACRIFICE AND DETERMINATION!
NO MORE WILL I SETTLE!
NOTHING SHORT OF DOMINATION!

FOCUS.
FOCUS.

Time To Grow.

UNREASONABLY STRONG
UNREASONABLY DEDICATED
UNREASONABLY COMMITTED!

HUSTLE HARDER
Be better than your competition. You better bet your ass there are people out there trying to take your spot.
Work harder
If they do 10 you do 11
If they get up at 6 you get up at 5
Know that for every minute you are sleeping, someone is working to take it all away from you.

Are you going to be a LION or a sheep ?
The king of the jungle or another insignificant NUMBER in the herd.
A respected boss or slave to a boss.
A LEADER or a FOLLOWER
You see a sheep is someone who EXPECTS the things he wants to be given to him
A LION is someone who goes out and HUNTS for the things he wants.

You are the captain of your fate
The master of your soul
The boss of your dreams
The KING of your goals
You can have be and do anything
You just gotta believe
One day will be your day
Then you will achieve

I AM MACHINE. I AM BEAST. ON THIS IRON. I WILL FEAST!!

The truth is I know within my heart I have what it takes
Many have come before me with less and achieved more
Many have reached the peak of success
And now, Now it’s my turn

MACHINE. BEAST. IRON. FEAST
Rise & Grind, Yeah Baby
LIVE YOUR DREAMS. BE FEARLESS!

Lyrics for Last Day Motivational Video & Last Day Motivational Music Track:
What if today was your last day?
When we are born no-one gives us a note with our used by date on it.
No-one has the privilege of knowing when their time is up.
Maybe, if we did we would live life differently…
LIVE -LIFE differently.
Rather than existing
Maybe we would live this life to it’s fullest potential.
Maybe, we would give more, do more and be more.
Maybe we would have more DRIVE
, more DESIRE
, more ENTHUSIASM FOR LIFE
Maybe we would go after our dreams with more INTENSITY.
Maybe we would not give up so easily.
Maybe we would CHASE OUR DREAMS HARDER & FASTER.

WHAT ARE YOU HOLDING BACK?
Can you give more?
Today when your body is telling you to take it easy.
Tell your body this – NOT TODAY!
Today is different!
Today I WILL SUCCEED!
I WILL SUCCEED NO MATTER WHAT!
I WILL REACH MY GOAL!
I will reach my goal at ANY COST!!!!
I KNOW I HAVE THE POWER TO REACH AND EVEN EXCEED MY GOAL
I KNOW I AM POWERFUL
I KNOW I AM STRONG!

Yes it will be hard
Yes there will be hard times, obstacles, haters and naysayers.
And there you will be proving them all wrong
There you will be showing that YOU WILL NOT GIVE UP

A champion is defined as someone who GETS UP when it seems HE CAN’T GET UP.
You are a champion
PUSH YOURSELF TO THE LEVEL OF A CHAMPION
I KNOW YOU GOT MORE.
PUSH PAST YOUR LIMITS
You will discover your true power, your true capability
PUSH
PUSH HARDER
GIVE ME MORE!

Nothing is worth more than this moment
Give it your all.
Leave every ounce of energy out this day…

If you go to bed tonight and do anything but collapse in a heap of exhaustion you should be DISGUSTED in yourself.
Don’t YOU EVER wonder what if.
Don’t YOU EVER leave an ounce of your soul in YOUR YESTERDAY.
You want to be great?
Show your GREATNESS!
Show your CHARACTER
Show your HEART!
RAISE YOUR EXPECTATIONS
YOU ARE SO MUCH MORE THAN YOU EVER IMAGINED.
YOU ARE POWERFUL
YOU WILL SUCCEED
YOU WILL ACHIEVE

Push yourself.
Every minute of every day
Leave it all out there, as if there were no tomorrow
And one day you will look back with pride at the life YOU created, through heart, courage and pure determination.
Be Fearless.

There is never an excuse for being anything but the hardest worker in any room.
I may not be the most talented…
I may not be the strongest…
I may not have the opportunities of others… But mark my words…
I am the hardest worker … IN ANY ROOM
NO-ONE WILL OUT WORK ME
NO-ONE WILL OUT HEART ME
I WILL REACH ANY GOAL I SET FOR MYSELF BECAUSE I KNOW WITHIN MY HEART I WILL GIVE MORE THAN ANY OTHER HUMAN TO ACHIEVE IT

NO-ONE WILL OUT WORK ME
NOT TODAY!
NOT TODAY, NEXT WEEK OR NEXT YEAR

HEART, COURAGE, DRIVE, BURN WITHIN ME ALL DAY EVERYDAY

WHAT I LACK IN TALENT I MAKE UP FOR IN SPADES WITH PURE DETERMINATION AND A RELENTLESS DESIRE TO BE THE BEST!

I will fight for what’s mine
My dreams
My goals
My vision!
