By using creative visualization to imagine future events happening now and vision boards. Using vision board on a daily basis can help your chances of success so much.

Each year, I create a new vision board for what I want to achieve this year but added some new stuff this year. After hearing John Assaraf talk on Impact Theory, I decided to add two more boards alongside my vision board.

Here’s how the use of a vision board could bring about a massive shift of fortune in your life.

Vision Board | Millionaire Method

Vision boards are so effective because they provide you with a visual representation of what you are trying to achieve in your life. They became very popular after the movie, “The Secret” was released.

The film showed how some of the most successful people made their visions come to life. John Assaraf, who was featured in the movie, talked about how he eventually moved into his dream home pictured on his vision board. It was the exact home he had imagined without even realizing it. At that point, he began to understand the power of programming your mind for success.

Vision boards are so effective because they help keep your top goals in front of you at all times. By using repetition and further visualizing or feeling yourself accomplishing what you’re trying to achieve, it creates strong neural pathways in the brain. And the more you visualize it on a consistent basis, the more you are wiring your brain for success.

While creating a vision board can help you achieve your goals and dreams, don’t forget the most important step is taking action. To attract success into your life remember the last five letters of attraction are “action.”

Accomplish Board | Millionaire Method

As humans, we’re quick to forget our big accomplishments in pursuit of the next goal or dream. But it’s important to have reminders of all that you’ve achieved as well. Along with a vision board, John recommends creating an achievement board as well.

On an achievement board, make sure you add things you’ve recently accomplished or are proud of in life. This could be things like a job promotion, new car, revenue goal in your business or something else.

Little reminders about your past accomplishments will help you overcome doubt when going after new goals. They will help remind you that you’ve done a lot already and can do even more. Think about this as your brag board!

Crap Board | Millionaire Method

The last board is something I had never heard of until this interview. John talks about having a “crap board” that entails things you don’t want in your life. This could include people that are toxic, situations you want to avoid or habits you don’t need.

These three boards can help you remember your past accomplishments, train your brain for the future and avoid bad situations. A vision board pairs great with meditation, persistence, and affirmations to manifest your dreams.

To get started, buy a tri-fold board and make one-third of each your vision, accomplishment, and “crap” board. Review them each morning and night before going to bed to help reach your full potential this year.

It took me 30 years to realize that comparing yourself to anyone else is a massive waste of time. The only person to ever compare yourself to is your previous self. Track your own metrics and only compare your results to your past.

One of my mentors, Benjamin Hardy, said to only think of the gain, not the gap. Meaning, when you want to see how you’re doing, only look backward, not forwards. By looking back and seeing how far you’ve come is much more empowering than looking ahead. Because the target is always moving ahead, making it feel like you’ll never make it.

Remember, who cares if someone’s business is making more money or has a bigger social media following than yours. Everyone starts out differently and no two people or businesses start in the same place.

At the end of the day, entrepreneurship is always a gamble. But if you believe in yourself and in your vision you can make it happen. It just probably won’t look exactly how you see it all in the beginning.

1. Don’t Just Visualize, Touch The Dream

Despite being worth $400 million and having some of the nicest homes in the world, this wasn’t always the case. Ed grew up in a middle-income home and hit rock bottom in his own finances in his early 20’s. He’s said in several interviews he was so broke that he and his newlywed wife had to use the outdoor shower by the pool when the water got turned off.

But as he began to build his fortune he used powerful techniques to help manifest more into his life. Instead of just using a vision board he would physically “touch the dream.” He would take his wife to a fancy restaurant, stay at the Ritz Carlton for a night, and reward himself for reaching his goals.

He said that method primed his mind to believe he was capable of doing these things regularly. 

2. Keep The Promises You Make to Yourself

If you watch Ed speak it’s easy to think the man was born with as much confidence as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. But he’s said multiple times that he’s extremely shy and has to work hard on building self-confidence.

So how did he do it? By keeping the promises he made to himself.

He said when things were bad he knew he could only control certain parts of his life like a morning and evening routine or exercise. So if he said he would make 50 calls or lift for 60 minutes, he would always follow through.

He said that staying consistent helped him trust himself and gain confidence along the way.

3. Raise The Thermostat

It’s no secret that if you want to be successful you have to spend time with successful people. Ed Mylett said that to be successful you have to raise your internal thermostat for success.

Meaning, if you hang out with people that are where you want to be regularly, they will bring you up with them. He sought after people more wealthy, fit, and successful than him. Eventually, over time he was able to raise his own level of success by surrounding himself with mentors and coaches.

4. Understand The Power of Your Mind

Ed Mylett talks in depth about using his mind to achieve his dreams. Mainly, by using your RAS (reticular activation system) to program his mind for success. While this sounds complicated, it really isn’t.

One way he recommends using your RAS is to set the lock screen of your phone with a list of your top five big goals. As the average person opens their phone at least 100+ times per day this is a constant reinforcement of seeing what you’re trying to achieve.

5. Become Blissfully Dissatisfied

It’s easy to get comfortable and let your foot off the gas when things start going well in life. Ed Mylett combats this with the 80/20 rule.

Ed says to spend 80% of your time living in a state of pure bliss. He spends a majority of his time being grateful for life, family, and what accomplishments. But spends the other 20% in a state of frustration to feel the pain.

He says that this 20% will give you the motivation to succeed and take your life to the next level. Make sure to allocate correctly otherwise you’ll be in too much pain to take action.

They say if you love what you do then you’ll never work a day in your life. And the author of this book agrees 100%.

If you love what you do it won’t feel like work which means you can work harder and longer. Becoming a millionaire doesn’t just happen, you have to put in the work. That often requires more work than 99% of people are willing to do.

But if you love the process then you’re much more likely to stay committed than if you’re just doing it for the money.

Who you hang out with is who you become. It’s been said again and again in every personal development book yet people still hang out with the wrong crowd.

2. Financial Mismanagement

Generally most people suffer from poor money management and lack any financial education. Think about it, why do people with 9-5 jobs spend their entire pay check before the next one arrives? But most ‘wealthy’ people seem hesitant to spend even though they have more money? The culture of the working class is to live pay check to pay check. It just seems normal because everyone does it! Developing a budget becomes more important the less you earn. You need to have long terms goals and a plan of how you can use your savings to better your life. There are numerous free education sources online that can be found in seconds. Make your next financial decision an educated one.

3. Indoctrination

Quite often people become subconciously ‘brain-washed’ by their own friends and family. If someone grew up in poverty often they will believe that is the normal way of life. Thinking that if they got a steady job with a comfortable salary that they have ‘made it’ because they are much better off than the life that they have known. How would a rich person that lost all of their money think? Of course they would become distressed and do everything in their power to regain their wealth and way of life. You must truly believe you will be a success. That will will fuel your fire and drive you to escape the working class.

4. Thinking It’s Too Late.

The number of people who became wildly successful in their 40’s, 50’s & 60’s and beyond is much higher than those whom were successful before the age of 25. As you get older your chances of success actually get higher. You are also generally smarter, more disciplined and more in tune with your passions.

Harland Sanders of KFC fame did not get the idea to franchise his favourite chicken recipe until he was 62 years of age. When Harland passed away, there was an estimated 6,000 KFC outlets in 48 countries with over $5.9 billion of annual sales!
