Do you want to achieve any goal you set?

Read on to discover how winners set clearly defined goals and the actions they take to achieve them.

1. Set A Goal That Drives You

When you set a goal for yourself it has to be something that you want immensely.

This is your ‘Why‘ and it needs to be strong enough to get you through everything life will throw at you. So make sure it’s good!

Motivation is key to getting started on a goal, but it’s vision, focus and a disturbing level of determination that will take you over the finish line.

2. Write It Down

In a study conducted by Dr. Gail Matthew, a psychology professor at the Dominican University in California. Out of 267 participants she found that the people with written goals were 42% more likely to achieve them.

The physical act of writing something will allow your brain to absorb it more fully. This is also true of studying, you will find you remember more when you take notes as opposed to just listening.

Make your written goals specific, in positive language, obtainable (if you put in the work) and have a deadline to achieve them by.

Under each goal write a 3 step plan of things you can take action on immediatly to get you closer to your goal. It doesn’t matter how small, as long as it is progressing you towards achieving your goal.

3. Embrace Your Near Wins

There has already been many times in your life where you thought you put everything you could towards achieving a specific task but, you failed.

The times you came close to success but just fell short. They may seem like failures but they aren’t.

Each time we try and fail not only do we learn more about ourselves but we develop strength for the next round.

Quite simply you learn from the small battles what it takes to win the war.

You may have failed recently but you are stronger now, smarter and you have a new level of intensity to obliterate. Don’t give up, get revenge by achieving everything you set out to achieve.

4. Visualize Visualize Visualize

When you have clearly defined written goals. Put them somewhere you will see them first thing in the morning.

Each morning you must read them again, better yet, write them down again (yes every morning) writing will make the information more ingrained in your brain, significantly reducing the time it takes to ‘rewire’ yourself.

Next, visualise yourself already having achieved your goals. What would it be like when you’ve achieved your goal? How happy are you? How do you feel? Each day you are changing the way your brains works.

You have to have incredible faith in your visualisation as though you have already achieved what you are setting out to achieve.

This will tell your brain that the goal is achievable and it will automatically begin working towards it.

Just like a boat in the middle of the ocean, point in the direction you want to go and soon you will hit land.

Sadly, most people are too scared to even leave the safety of the harbor, but just by reading this article you have already shown more hunger than most.

Now is the time to take your life to another level.

5. Company Makes You Stronger

What if I told you to tell your loved one/s or family about your goals and what you aim to achieve?

Would they laugh? Would they think you’ve lost your mind? Tell you it’s impossible? You have to be brave enough to share these thoughts because you know one day they will be a reality.

If you have people in your life that answer negatively, you have to ask yourself are these the right people to drive you forward?

You are the average of your five closest friends..

Everything the people you spend time with are doing is influencing you.

If they complain they are tired you will feel tired, if they complain life is too hard you will believe the same. You need to find company that lifts you higher. If you can identify people in your life who don’t fit this criteria. It’s time to make a change, that is of course if you want your goals bad enough.

You will need every strength available to you for the coming battles.

Remember, to be great you must be different.

6. Make An Action Plan

Write at least one goal for each of these areas of your life.

  • Relationships
  • Career
  • Money
  • Health

Under each goal write a three step plan, things that you can take action on straight away.

Have a deadline for each goal, some may be a week, some may be a year or more.

Each time you complete a goal cross it off and write a new one the next day, this will give you time to appreciate your achievement but also help you clarify what your next goal should be.

7. Do Not Quit

Remember if it was easy to be highly successful everyone would do it.

Achievement is an ongoing process, you need to go over your goals every single day with laser beam focus.

Remind yourself every day what you are working towards, personally I get up at least 30 minutes earlier each day for this process so you know exactly what you are working towards each day, this will also increase your productivity each day significantly.

A dream becomes a goal when action is taken towards it.
