11 Steps To Defeat Your Fears and Start Living a Truly Legendary Life

You are so much more powerful than you may think. A lot of people do not realize that they are born with great gifts and unique talents. These hidden powers, once unleashed can work wonders for you and for the good of others in this world.

Some people see big achievements as impossible to achieve and because of that very limited thought process it causes the potential within them to be locked away forever. You are here for a reason and a purpose and as soon as you realize that, your entire life will change. Are you ready to defeat your fears and live life on your terms?

1. Face and defeat your fears

What is your deepest fear? In order for you to overcome that fear, you must first acknowledge it exists and LEARN the steps required to overcome it. For change to happen you must face the uncomfortable, because it is in those zones that one truly discovers their true strengths. We all have fear yet we must never let it paralyze us into inaction. Even the smallest step to start, might end up being the biggest step of your life so step out of your comfort zone and go for it.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.”

2. Take action now

A mind that is free from fear and full of purpose has the urge to take the action to succeed. When you have purpose in life, you are willing to push the boundaries of what is possible, and when you push those boundaries, you begin to discover how great you really can become. As you achieve one goal you have the mental capacity, maturity and experience to face new, bigger challenges. Therefore your hunger and appetite for more success increases as do your expectations and your results.

3. The importance of time

As I grow older I have begun to realise that time is much more valuable than money. Every year, month, week, day, hour, minute and second hold critical importance to your life. Everything you want to do, see, feel, touch and experience can only happen within the time you are given. The true value of time hits home when you are confronted with the recognition of how much you want to do in life and the little time you have. The lesson here is that one must never waste time, you must use that time wisely. Knowing that life is short, and one day you will be gone anyway, you can release and defeat any insignificant fears you hold – as you KNOW they are not as important as living NOW, in this moment.

4. You have a hidden power

The hidden power is your gut instinct. This is a classic piece of advice many people should live by: “Go with your gut” or “Follow your intuition”. Some people are so easy to rush to make decisions because they hit a panic button or because there are too many things on their to-do list, and too little time to complete them. Your gut, or intuition is this centre of feelings built up throughout your whole life. Learn to trust and develop it because at the most important times it will guide you in the right direction. As further situations arise you have a strong instinct that is much more intuitive, curious, sharp and more reactive. When you experience positive outcomes the momentum builds and builds and then with time you begin to learn more about yourself and in the process trust yourself more as well.

5. Try something new spontaneously

Power is essentially the capability to influence certain behaviour or events. There is an amazing feeling when you try something fresh new, totally random and spontaneous. I am sure there is something that you’ve always wanted to do but never found the time. Whether you come out on top, fail miserably, or perhaps do not enjoy much it shouldn’t matter. The result is that you have expanded and stretched your mind in ways that you didn’t imagine you could. Therefore you instil the feeling of self-empowerment like a person who is not afraid.

6. Constant state of motivation

From time to time you might get flashes of powerful moments in which you feel like you can take on the world. That powerful feeling of knowing that there is something more than what you are currently experiencing and you want to do something about it. A constant state of motivation is sourced from having a powerful reason why you must achieve your goals and the commitment to keep moving forward no matter what has happened in the past. The past tells us “you either run from it or learn from it.”

7. Think of a plan, visualise it and execute it

Visualization has been an effective way to attract ideas since the dawn of humanity. It is a fundamental way to connect what is non-existent into what you really want in life. The problem is our mind always wants to visualize what could go wrong instead of what could go right.

I want you to perform this visualization challenge every day.

  • Start the day with some alone time
  • Visualize what you want in life.  Say it out loud to connect the images with powerful positive affirmations
  • Take a few deep breaths and let the emotions run through. Really connect with your inner self. Don’t shy away
  • Set the story, picturing yourself winning in any situation.
  • Lastly it ends with the sincere conviction and belief that what you want is already on the way.

8. Be willing to accept failure: FAIL FORWARD

There is no avoiding failure. Every single human that is committed to pushing the limits of what is possible in their life will fail at some point. Some use failure as a reason to quit, and some use failure as a lesson to grow and develop. There’s not really any such thing as failure, there’s only lessons and learning one more way not to do something. True failure is when you don’t even try at all, and living in this constant state of fear. If you want to defeat your fear of failure – you should know 2 things:
1. Every successful human being on earth has failed MANY times, before they reached their highest level of success. If it wasn’t the end for them, it won’t be for you.
2. There’s no such thing as failure, only a lesson in how-not-to do something.

9. Have a winning attitude everyday

To keep the cycle of motivation in constant momentum you must work hard on yourself.  The winning attitude is created by approaching your life with a commitment to self development. A strong mind is a self made mind. To develop a winning attitude you must work on growing your mental muscles through DAILY self development, just as you would grow your physical muscles by working out daily in the gym.

10. Surround yourself with winners

Surround yourself with those who operate on the same level as you. Learn to let go of negative people, people who offer no value for your life. Stop buying into false relationships and fake people who just want to use you for their own gain. Develop your close groups of connections and spend dedicated time with them to learn about similar goals and dreams.

11. Don’t allow criticism to defeat you

Why are we so are afraid of what others think of us? Critics, haters and naysayers – they should never slow you down from achieving your goals or convince you that you are on the wrong path. You decide for yourself what you should be doing with your life, and only you know what is best for you. Once you let go of the need for others approval, and instead commit to running your own race, you defeat your fears by default.

“You can become and accomplish anything in life! Your successes, greatness, and potential are determined by you alone; and all of the characteristics necessary to achieve your goals and dreams already lie within you. Our success and potential is not determined by talent or ability, knowledge or money, race or gender, or even circumstance or setting – it is created, developed, and determined from within ourselves.”
