Steve Jobs rules for success led him to the top. Here he is at an Apple event, standing in front of the Apple logo.Steve Jobs, love him or hate him, is a man that has changed the world as we know it. The man behind Apple has, without a doubt, changed every day life for practically everyone on the planet. Without him, we’d be no where near as advanced as a society as we are today when speaking in terms of technology. A self-made man that was able to impact and shape the world must have rules for success, and that’s exactly what we’re going to go over in this article.

Steve Jobs Top 10 Rules For Success

1. Be Limitless

It’s a fact that most people live inside of a box — a social construct that keeps everyone within it. However, you have to realize, life is practically limitless, and you don’t have to live inside of a box. The world as we know it today has been shaped by people that are “no smarter than you,” as Steve Jobs himself put it. Therefore, do not limit yourself, or your potential. You can change the world, just like Steve Jobs, and that’s why this is number one on our rules of success list.

2. Have Passion For What You’re Doing

One of the key rules of success is persevering through the hard times. If you’re not passionate about what you’re trying to do, you’re likely going to quit when times get tough — and times will get very tough on your journey to success. At this point, most people will just give up, but those who are passionate will likely endure the things life throws at them.

3. Focus On What’s Good

In this particular instance, Jobs is referring to good products, but this can be interpreted in more ways than one. For instance, think about your mindset, and the certain psychology you need possess in order to achieve success. Focus on your accomplishments, and the good things you have going for you, rather than the bad stuff.

4. It’s Not About The Money

Money is a great thing, and it certainly opens up some doors for you, but you shouldn’t do something purely for the monetary gain. Money can easily go to your head, and cloud your thoughts. Think about the passion rule we talked about above. If you weren’t going to get paid for what you do, would you still do it? If not, you may want to reconsider your path in life.

5. Be Proud Of Your Product

Steve Jobs prided himself on his Apple line, and the fact that he offered quality products. Simply put, as Steve Jobs has stated many times, he would not ship junk. Therefore, he always made sure that his products were top of the line, so if he was giving them to friends, family members, or customers, he’d know that they were receiving the best quality merchandise from his company that’s possible.

6. Design For Yourself

Sit back and think about what you want out of life. What is something that you need, which you also think that other people could need? Also, when you create your product, would it be good enough for you? Are you satisfied with it?

7. Have A Great Team

As you start to grow, you’re going to realize that you need a great team of people that are going to be willing to go to the next level with you. It’s important that you select the right people — people that are as passionate as you about what you’re doing, and they’re willing to help you go for it. It’s extremely important that these people understand your vision, and know what you’re trying to accomplish. They shouldn’t be in it just for the money.

8. Build Around The Customer

Always keep your customers in mind. They’re the most important thing, and you have to make sure that the user experience is top notch.

9. Marketing Is About Values

It’s important to keep your values in mind as you progress through life. No matter how far along you get, you have to hold onto your values and cherish them.

10. Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish

Without a doubt, this is Steve Jobs’ most popular quote. Basically, he’s saying that you should always strive for better. There’s never a “good enough,” always try to improve. Also, never listen to anyone that says something isn’t possible, or can’t be further progressed. As people, we’ve been conditioned to believe that certain things are “foolish,” and certain things are impossible, or a waste of time. With thinking like that, you’ll never change the world.
