Procrastination continues to be one of the largest enemies of our productivity. If we do not find effective ways to break this habit, it has the potential to completely derail our path towards success.

In life, every single person wants to earn more money. They want to be more successful; have a nicer Home; a nicer Car; more money in the Bank; and have no financial worries. The key to achieving these goals is to learn how to get more and better results.

The limiting factor all this is chronic procrastination. You may think that you have tried everything under the Sun to overcome procrastination. You’ve set goals, and have created a time management schedule; however, all to no positive end. Well, let me share some effective strategies to overcome chronic procrastination.

How To Overcome Procrastination?

Change your thinking! The truth is that if you change your thinking, you will change your life. Here is a trick in helping you to pull away from the temptation of procrastination. Say to yourself – ‘Do it now’. These magic words will motivate and push you to get started. When you repeat these words often enough, the message will get pushed deep into your subconscious, and act as a trigger for getting things done immediately. If you spend all of your time thinking about how your habit of chronic procrastination gets in the way of your dreams, then your subconscious mind will accept that as the truth, and that’s how your life will continue to be. If, instead, you spend your time thinking about how wonderful you are at getting the difficult and important tasks done, and how incredibly organised you are with your time, then the subconscious mind will accept that as the truth and you will start to do more of the things that overcome procrastination.

Another strategy is to resolve the big task right away. If you simply resolve to take action and get it over with, your entire life will be uninhibited by the daunting tasks that once prevented you from moving forward. It is important to remember that you cannot manage time. Time exists completely out of our control. Therefore, you cannot manage time. Instead, what you can do is manage your life. Time management is really life management. It is the management of the sequence of events in your life. It is the ability to choose what you do first, what you do second, and what you do later; if at all. In this ability to choose lies your entire life. When you choose the most important thing, and you choose to do that first, and more importantly you choose to do that rather than anything else, you are immediately putting your life on the fast track. In fact, you can double your productivity, performance and output simply by changing your order of choices in the way that you use your time.

Now, let’s talk about the best way to use our time in order to move you closer to your goals. The way to do this is by developing a single-minded focus of things you need to do that will have the most important and beneficial impact on your life. Whenever you are faced with a task, you must understand the consequences of doing it or not doing it. If the consequences of not doing it are irrelevant or negligible, then do not do the task. Prioritise the tasks that have serious and immediate consequences. It is as simple as that!

Here is what you should be doing every morning to determine which tasks to get started on immediately that will make a sizable difference in your life.

4 Steps To Overcome Procrastination

1) Plan each day in advance,

2) Take time each morning to address your major goals and then write out a list of things to do in order to get closer to those goals.

3) Set priorities on each item so that you do not skip your most important task.

4) Then, get to it. When you jump into the work day and start something very important right away, the level at which you work will be much higher.

Here is a word of advice – If you do the right things in the right way, you will get whatever results that you desire.

If you want to change your future, take action, and take action now!
