5 Habits You Need To Adopt From Successful Entrepreneurs
When you hear the word “entrepreneur”, an image of a highly successful, unapproachable person might be the first thing that comes to mind. While it does take a certain kind of motivation to become a successful entrepreneur, many of the daily habits entrepreneurs have adopted can be achieved by the average person. Whether you’re a realtor in Virginia, a college student, or a budding entrepreneur yourself, here are 5 daily habits of entrepreneurs that you should start utilizing ASAP.
1. Wake Up Early
While waking up earlier than usual can feel torturous to some of us, you’d be surprised how much more productive it can make you. Some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs, such as Howard Schultz, Tim Cook, and Richard Branson wake up at the crack of dawn and start their days while the rest of us are still asleep. If waking up an hour or two earlier seems impossible, start by waking up 15 minutes earlier one day and see how you feel. Then the following week, try waking up 30 minutes earlier, and so on.
2. Set Daily Goals
Setting goals is important in many different areas of your life, so it’s no surprise that many of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs set (and stick to) daily goals for themselves. Setting daily goals, whether big or small, can help you hold yourself accountable for the things you want to accomplish. If you’re unsure of where to start, think of something small you want to accomplish today. This can be something as simple as remembering to take the trash out, or a slightly bigger feat, like getting in a good morning workout. Setting at least one goal each day will make you feel like you accomplished something, and you’ll be able to work your way up to adding more daily goals from there.
3. Keep A Planner
While jotting down your daily schedule with pencil and paper may seem outdated, it is actually one of the best organizational tactics. Keeping a planner is a great way to keep track of appointments, meetings, and other important events that may slip your mind if you don’t write them down. It’s easier to remember something when you physically write it down as opposed to typing in a reminder on your phone, and writing in a planner can actually help relieve stress as well. If you’re new to planners, there are tons of simple, inexpensive ones to choose from that will make your introduction to keeping a planner foolproof!
4. Ask For Feedback
Receiving criticism might not necessarily seem like a positive thing, but successful entrepreneurs actually thrive on it. Entrepreneurs understand that feedback from others is a fundamental part of success, as many different perspectives can be a crucial part of achieving greatness. Whether you’re thinking about starting your own business or simply working on a class project, getting feedback from others can really be eye-opening and can help you strive to go further.
5. Never Stop Networking
Networking is another crucial part of becoming a successful entrepreneur, and making connections with as many different people as possible can be a great asset in whatever you’re trying to accomplish. If you’re in the early stages of starting your own wedding photography business, for example, the best way to make connections and get your name out there is by attending bridal expos and other similar events. It is important to take advantage of every networking opportunity you have, as you never know who you could end up meeting. There is never a wrong time to network and make connections, so make sure you’re putting yourself out there and going to every event possible.
Haven’t used a planner for years. Thanks for reminding me that “it’s easier to remember something when you physically write it down.”
Thank you
