The Success Principles, written by Jack Canfield, has the ability to positively impact any area of your life. The book has 67 lessons to help you get from where you are to where you want to be. Jack has used these principles in his own life to become a top seminar leader, best-selling author, and motivational speaker.

Here are four of the most important success principles learned from the famous book, that will help you change your life forever.

1. Experience Your Fear and Take Action Anyway

Fear is natural feeling but humans try to avoid fear at all costs. Whenever you start anything new fear will undoubtedly follow. Don’t be afraid of it, use fear to your advantage. The most successful people in the world have felt fear like everyone else, they just pushed through. Stop running away from your fears and face them.

As Les Brown said, “Fear is nothing more than False Evidence Appearing Real.” As you continue to feel the fear and do it any way you will build confidence and belief in yourself.

2. Unleash the Power of Goal Setting

An overwhelming majority of the population doesn’t set goals. But the ones that do set goals and review them regularly are the top 1% of achievers. Human beings are goal-seeking organisms that want to achieve. Have you noticed that you feel the most alive when you are actively working on a goal that is important to you?

To reach new levels of success make goal setting a huge priority. Start by affirming and writing out each of your goals. Be sure to write, not type them. When you write a goal it has a much bigger impact on your subconscious mind to see the goal in your own writing.

Review your goals regularly and visualize yourself achieving them. Tell your friends, family or an accountability partner to increase the chances of succeeding. Lastly, be sure to set a realistic deadline for your goal to create urgency.

3. Commit to Constant and Never-Ending Improvement

Tony Robbins refers to this concept as CANI, constant and never-ending improvement. As Jack Canfield said, “Achievers — whether in business, sports, or the arts — are committed to continual improvement.”

To become a high achiever ask yourself questions constantly like:

  • “How can I get better?”
  • “Where can I improve?”
  • “Who can I surround myself with to learn faster?”
  • “Is my environment helping or hurting me?”

Huge life improvements don’t happen overnight, they take a lot of time. Make learning something new a fun, enjoyable experience. Commit to becoming a lifelong learner by staying curious and always asking questions.

4. The Myth of Rejection

Does rejection really exist?

When you think about it not really, you never had whatever it is (new job, new client, etc). If someone says no to something you ask then nothing has changed. Rejection will happen in every person’s lives, it how you deal with the myth of rejection that matters. Learn from every situation in life so you can get more “Yes” responses in the future.

If Jack Canfield would have accepted rejection he would have never published his first book, Chicken Soup for The Soul. After over 100 rejections from publishers, the book series has now sold over 500 million copies worldwide. As Jack said, “When they say no, you say next.”

Use these four Success Principles to improve yourself, accomplish your goals, and cultivate a winning mindset.
