LYRICS: Don’t Pray For An Easy Life (Official Music Video) Back Against The Wall
I counted amount of times when I fell down and didn’t get up – zero
No one to look up to in my life so I become my own damn hero
Slowly progressed on the holiest quest we call our life with a bow and arrow
War was fought with cannons and guns, walked through the waters both deep and shallow
Never underestimate your opponent but I guess that the battlefield did that to me
Cause when I came there and landed, both ground and the armies became my enemies
I sought a remedy, and after years of searching
I found what could replenish me
The strength of a mind and the power of will to establish my legacy
Taken advantage of, lost and abandoned, broken the piece of my heart left remaining
So I swore till the day I lay in a casket I’ll conquer the top or at least die chasing
My perspective was shifting and changing, crushed from the sacrifices I made
But none of that would go to waste, all I needed was momentum to start the game
And now we’re playing, show me what you got and I’ll do the same
Imma let the beast out to escape, it’s been a long time since we’ve loosened chains
I know we both got answers to the obvious question if the dues are paid
We know yours are cause through thick and thin you’ve proven you truly do deserve greatness
Remember the past till it’s done with the lesson then let it go
Don’t focus on what is lost to time, the second you do you too will be gone
Life is a chain of events whose goal is to break or make and shape a soul
Don’t pray for an easy life, pray to endure when your back’s against a wall
When your back’s against a wall, when your back’s against a wall
Don’t pray for an easy life, pray to endure when your back’s against a wall
Undeniably moving, but there’s days when I just don’t feel like
When I’m down my consciousness asks me what is tomorrow gon’ be like
Faced adversity so much that now when the thoughts hit me I just rewind
The movie of how I came to be what I’ve become, the fire reignites
Thin line between genius and mad and I seem to believe that I’ve crossed it
As each day goes by when the demons are knocking on my door,
I’m becoming impulsive From a reject to a respect that I can’t seem to believe I really attained
Cause I’m trying to clean my wounds, but no matter what I do my soul remains stained
Got a place called home that I know in my soul that I can’t vacate
I’d be back to the same things, rock bottom and paintings full of red paint resembling pain things
I’m a product of pressure that’s building inside like the rain is.
So if I’m going back to that I’m sure that I’ll be pouring out anger and vengeance.
I know what it’s like when you’re holding onto a strand of hair for life
Been in situations I wouldn’t eat if I didn’t learn how to maul and take a bite
Stayed up awful and cold nights, prayed for a chance to establish a great life
Fix my mistakes and attempt to make right, found my purpose in hope and chased light
Don’t pray for an easy life, pray to endure when your back’s against a wall
When your back’s against a wall, when your back’s against a wall
Don’t pray for an easy life, pray to endure when your back’s against a wall
