Excuses. The world is filled with them. They are the mind’s escape hatch, a physical manifestation of doubt and fear, and an easy way out.

Excuses are there when you can’t meet the level of success that others expect of you. They are there when your family, critics, friends and competitors question whether you are ever going to make it.  They are there for you when loved ones say, “you’ve been at your business for two years and still haven’t made it, maybe you are simply wasting your time”. They are there when your spouse suggests that you abandon your entrepreneurial dreams and simply “get a paying job.”

Excuses are there to comfort you, to tell you that it’s not your fault. They tell you it’s okay, the other guys have advantages that you don’t. They tell you,  “He walked into his father’s business when his father retired”;  “her mother had contacts in the industry”; “he has always been lucky.” They tell you that you just don’t have the time to succeed because of your responsibilities to your family. They tell you, “some things are more important than success.” Excuses are the well that never runs dry.

No More Excuses!

But excuses are a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They are dream killers. Excuses make you less than what you can be. In order to succeed you must eliminate excuses from your daily life. When excuses creep into your mind take control and silence those thoughts. There is no such thing as an overnight success no matter how many people tell you that their business was an overnight success. That’s what they want you to believe. They don’t want you to know how hard they worked because they’re afraid that you might work harder. They would rather make it look easy so that excuses invade your thoughts and keep your success at bay.

If you want to succeed you must understand that there is only one thing you need to do and that is to be relentless. To work harder than you did yesterday regardless of who is telling you to give up. Study what successful people do but don’t get sucked in to the fairytale of an overnight success. There is no such thing as an overnight success!

Be willing to change direction often. Analyze what works and what doesn’t work. Don’t be afraid to change your course multiple times. Study your competitors. Watch their videos and read their social media posts. Shut out the excuses they will try to creep into your thoughts and understand that success is hard work. You are capable of working hard and being relentless regardless of your present situation. It is your duty to live up to your full potential, to fulfill the destiny that you design for yourself.

Just as there is no shortage of excuses there is also no shortage of effort that the human mind will set forth if you force it to shut excuses out of your life.  Fill your thoughts with positive energy. Acknowledge your efforts and see each misstep as an opportunity to learn and to rule out a path that doesn’t lead you closer to success. It’s not easy to silence the excuses but it must be done.  Must be done, not should be done. You must actively and aggressively silence any excuse that starts to creep in.  Realize it is fear talking and send that fear to hell. There is no place in your live for excuses. Leave excuses to the weak and soft.  You are not weak or soft, you are relentless and focused on fulfilling your dreams.

All you need to succeed is the willingness to learn, the ability to focus, the desire to see your dreams through to the end, the understanding that hard work is necessary and the flexibility to see what you’re doing right or wrong and to adjust your course. Don’t eat the poison fruit of excuses ever again. No more excuses, ever! Shut them down and shut them out of your mind from this day foreword.  Be ready to battle because once you start shutting the excuses out they will try harder to poison your mind. You can conquer them. You must. Be strong, be relentless. Live with NO MORE EXCUSES and succeed.
