If you want to learn how to find clarity, look no further than learning from multi-millionaire, best selling author, and success coach, Dean Graziosi for advice. I recently purchased his book, Millionaire Success Habits, and was blown away within the first 10 minutes of reading it.
I realized it was one of those books that can help people make massive shifts in their life if they read and implement. It reminded me of the Success Principles by Jack Canfield or Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. Yes, it’s that good!
The first part is all about helping you learn how to find clarity because so few people get this part right in their lives. I’m confident if you implement these exercises, you will have a clear vision of what you want and will make it easy to take action.
How to Find Clarity and Achieve Your Dreams
1. Have a Crystal Clear Vision of Your Destination
If you want to learn how to find clarity, start by reading the first section of the book and I think it will have a profound impact. Here’s how it starts…
Ask yourself, “What do you want in life?”
Most people can name off 20 or 30 things they don’t want but can’t find an answer for what they do want. Like Dean says, “If you don’t have a vision and clarity on the destination you want to reach, you’ll simply never get there.”
With a clear vision, you can accomplish more each day than you ever thought possible. If you feel overwhelmed daily because of a lack of time, distractions or you own procrastination, it’s because you’re not 100% clear. Knowing your outcome, in vivid detail, can guide you to achieving it all.
When you do have a clear vision for your life, you can finally stop wasting time on the things that aren’t helping you. You can finally take action on the things that will move the needle and inch you closer to success.
Once you clarify what you want, it’s time to step into the future.
2. Write Out Your Perfect Year (Vision Exercise)
To make this into tangible action steps, here’s what Dean recommends doing.
Imagine your life one year from today. When looking back over the past year, you realize it was the best year ever in every aspect.
What does that look like for you?
Ask yourself questions like:
- How much money are you making? How much did you save?
- Where did you work and who were you working with on a daily basis?
- Did you take your company to the next level? Did you quit your job to follow your passion?
- How were your relationships with your family? What did you do with your time off?
- How was your health? Did you have consistent fitness routines and self-care?
Like Dean said, “When you know where you want to go, you’ll start having a filer that will allow you to say no to certain friends, say no certain obligations, and say no to certain opportunities. Because deep down you know they aren’t contributing to your vision.”
This short but powerful exercise will help you from feeling overwhelmed and stressed. It will help you mirror the habit of his successful friends like Tony Robbins, Joe Polish, and Richard Branson.
Now it’s time to know why you want that perfect year.
3. Under “Why” You Want Your Vision
Looking back on the questions from your perfect year, it’s time to dig a bit deeper. Just asking the questions and writing out the perfect year isn’t enough.
Dean recommends going one step further by understanding why you want what you want. For example, ask yourself questions like:
- Why do you want to take your income to the next level?
- Why do you want to start your own business? Or get that promotion?
- Why do you want to help your parents retire?
- Why do you want to lose weight, have more passion or have more joy in your life?
Like Dean said, “The issue with most people is that they simply don’t go deep enough into their hearts and souls to find out the truth about why they want what they want.”
Understanding your core “why” will help you find clarity. It will make sure you don’t live the same year over and over again.
This way you won’t look back in 10 or 20 years with regret about not taking 100% responsibility for your life.
4. Go 7 Levels Deep to Learn How to Find Clarity
Taking step two even further is doing the “Seven Levels Deep” exercise with a friend, partner or spouse. This exercise changed Dean’s life and help him learn how to find clarity like never before.
Each time you answer why you want something, ask it again, and again for a total of seven times. For example, in Dean’s case, he wanted to write this book to help people find success and get out of their old routines.
Then his coach asked why. He answered, “To help get people out of mediocrity, give them strategies to find more money, success, etc.”
His coach asked why that mattered and continued asking why for a total of seven times. As Dean said, “When you ask yourself why 7 times is that you switch from answers coming from your head to pulling the answers from your heart and soul.”
This exercise will make your true why come out and ignite a fire deep within yourself. Dean recommends doing this exercise every three months or so. This will keep it fresh and anchor it in as one of your daily success habits.
Final Thoughts
Remember, if you want to learn how to find clarity, model and learn from successful people like Dean Graziosi. There is no need to reinvent the wheel and make it harder on yourself.
Spend some time alone and get clear about what you want. Focus on what you want, not what you don’t want so you can attract that into your life.
All of these principles will help you find clarity and start creating your life instead of simply going through the motions. It will ensure that you are constantly saying yes to things that move you forward. Plus it will make it easier to say no to things that hold you back.
