• Informational needs – It covers the knowledge and facts necessary for the development of an employee. For instance, the leader must know whether his members are knowledgeable about writing a newsletter, running a meeting, or managing business operations. When you know what they lack, you’ll think of ways to let them learn such knowledge relative to your business.
• Personal needs – These tangible needs cover the person’s need for care, understanding, and appreciation. As a leader, you must show gratitude and care towards your employees through simple notes or verbal acknowledgment.
• Physical needs – In an organization, these needs include more staff or more money for your organization. When your business has enough staff, employees can be more productive without being pressured to do more.

When you know those needs, it gives you these advantages:

• Appropriate response will be implemented and, as a leader, its fulfillment will help you reach your shared goals.
• Belief in your leadership will be reinforced.
• Your needs will also be met by your employees when they know you do your part to provide for their essentials.

2. You can resolve conflict

In any business, conflicts are normal. But their real causes must be understood to resolve such disputes properly. One of the reasons for arguments is the clashing of personality types or behaviors between different people. The conflict can occur when a person’s authority, beliefs, or values are challenged. To turn this conflict into a positive energy or outcome, one must find its underlying cause.

When you know the reason for such conflicts, you’ll understand how a person reacts to such causes. For instance, a person might be okay with dirty jokes but it might offend other people. When you know your customers, you’ll more likely find the best way to communicate and sell to them.

• Loyal customers – These are the people who heavily value your business product or service. To retain and avoid losing them, you must consider them a priority for your company. You can collect their feedback and input as part of your decision making process.

• Discount customers – These customers don’t purchase items at full price, but when you want your inventory to be over, offering them markdowns can help you with it.

1. You Have Shiny Object Syndrome

You’re never going to find success if you are constantly going after whatever’s exciting at the moment. And in today’s world of social media, it’s so easy to do.

For example, I have an online business selling online courses but I met some people doing e-commerce (and making a ton of money) a few months ago. Instead of staying with my business, I tried to do what they were doing, even though I had no experience and ended up losing time and money.

It’s not that I couldn’t have been successful, it’s that I was thinking short-term, not long term. If you’re starting something new, make sure to see it through before going into the next adventure.

Don’t waste your time jumping around from one thing to another without first mastering one topic. Then, you can find ways to strategically find new opportunities.

2. You Are Talking With The Same People

If you want to find success but keep asking the same people for advice, chances are you’re going to get the same results. Trust me, I get it… It’s easy to hang out with people you’ve known for a long time. The inside jokes, the old memories, etc.

But with old friends comes old stories and the same advice. Unless they are leveling up like you are, it’s easy to hang out with the same people, have the same ideas, and not challenge yourself to find new ideas, and solutions.

Remember, working hard and smart isn’t enough. You have to immerse yourself with people doing what you want to do at a high level.

You can’t hang out with average people and expect amazing results. Seek out groups or people who make you feel inadequate (at first) so they can help bring you up to their level of success.

3. You’re Hate Taking Risks

When Elon Musk sold Paypal he made over 180 million dollars. Most people would retire tomorrow and end up on a beach for the next 50 years.

But not someone as extraordinary as Elon. No, instead he spent all of that money (yes, all of it) funding SpaceX and Tesla.

At the time, this was a monumental risk. SpaceX was the first private company looking into space exploration and electric cars were basically laughed at. But he believed in himself and took the risk. Now, he’s worth over 5 billion dollars.

I’m not saying you need to bet every dollar on yourself but I am saying to take calculated risks. Remember, if ou keep doing what you’ve always done, you’re going to get the results you’ve always got.

4. You Hate Change

Change is necessary for growth. And most people think they hate change when in reality it’s just the brain’s survival mechanism trying to help you avoid pain and discomfort.

Remember, your brain is hardwired to hate change, it up to you to push through fear, doubt, and uncomfortable situations to become the next best version of you. The more you do it on a regular basis, the better you’ll get and the less you’ll dread changing.

Get Outside Your Comfort Zone  

When Jeff Bezos left his corporate job he withdrew $300,000 from his retirement savings to start Amazon. He knew very little about the internet and online book sales but saw an opportunity. Despite Barnes and Nobles and Borders bookstores, he knew the future would be on the internet. 

After diversifying Amazon from books to video, web services, and other online sales Jeff founded the aerospace company Blue Origin. His goal is to help enable private human access to space by lowering costs and increasing reliability. He also purchased the Washington Post for 250 million dollars in 2013. He’s never been afraid to try new things and get out of his comfort zone. The results have spoken for themselves.
