Can you believe that someone could hike Mt. Everest in shorts? Or take a 90-minute ice bath?

While it sounds impossible, it’s in fact 100% real. The man who can do these incredible feats and much more is known as Wim Hof, aka “The Iceman.”

The Iceman is the holder of over 26 world records. In recent years, Wim has emerged as someone who’s been able to do extraordinary things in his life thanks to breathing techniques and a comprehensive understanding of the mind.

He’s now sharing his methods with the world. Here are some of the best Wim Hof quotes to get you to understand the nearly unlimited power of your mind.

5 Mind Blowing Wim Hof Quotes

“Power is within us all. Anything can be overcome by going within.” – Wim Hof

Going within and putting in the work to understand yourself is the first part of accomplishing anything great. The most successful CEOs, athletes, and entertainers all have used the power of their mind to turn their dreams into reality.

While it seems like Wim Hof is a genetic freak, he says he’s the same as everyone else on the planet. The only difference is that he’s put in the work and went within himself to accomplish some of his incredible world records.

“Confidence comes when you have control with your own brain.” – Wim Hof

Everyone wants more confidence. Whether it’s during a job interview, a business meeting or conversing with others. If you want more confidence, start by understanding your own mind first.

To get more confidence, start by realizing where you are in life and what you want to improve. Then, figure out the best strategies to retrain your mind for success in the areas you want it most.

This could mean adopting a meditation practice, working on your fitness routine or scheduling out self-care. Remember, you have to put yourself first to show confidence in the world!

“We have become alienated from nature. But the cold is capable of bringing us back to what we once had lost.” – Wim Hof

Sometimes you just need to get out into nature and disconnect from the world. We’re more addicted to technology than ever before and it might make you feel a bit crazy from time to time.

As much as you can, get out into nature. Go somewhere quiet and journal, run in the park or go on a hike. Use that quiet time to listen to yourself and figure out problems you’re facing in life.

“Unless you are willing to experience new things, you will never realize your full potential.” – Wim Hof Quotes

The brain loves new adventures. It gets really tired of doing the same thing over and over again like so many people do.

Break your routines from time to time, mix it up! Take a new route to work, wake up earlier, go to a new restaurant or try a new strategy at work.

Get out of your comfort zone as often as possible!

“Your fitness is 100% mental! Your body won’t go where your mind doesn’t push it!” – Wim Hof Quotes

Remember, the mind controls the body, the body doesn’t control the mind. If you want to change your own fitness levels, start by understanding what’s holding you back from being in the best shape possible.

Use the power of your mind for one last set at the gym, one more lap around the track or one more lap in the pool. As you begin to push yourself and break past plateaus, you will find that your mind and body will become stronger than ever.

Remember, like Wim Hof said, “The limit is not the sky. The limit is the mind.”

Use these Wim Hof quotes to get the motivation to start tapping into your full potential. Once you learn to conquer the mind, your life will go to the next level.

Everyone has desires and ambition. Setting goals is a great way to set a target.. But, what happens when your fears start holding you back?

How will you react when come face to face with an immense obstacle blocking your path? This is when most people quit and throw in the towel..

Quitting is a whole lot easier than confronting your fears.. Yet, your fears will only grow when you don’t face them.

Therefore, I’m going to give you the formula to face your fears..

3 Straight-Forward Steps to Overcome Your Fears

1. The Antidote is Action

Do whatever it is that you are afraid of, don’t run from your fears. Face them by taking MASSIVE action. Write out whatever it is that you are truly afraid of, that’s getting in the way of your success. The best antidote to overcome them is by direct ACTION!

All these slogans such as, ‘fake it until you make it‘ are nonsense. What matters is how decisive you are so take action NOW, it doesn’t matter what you do, do something right now, even if it’s to get a glass of water this will start the momentum towards you conquering one of your 3 biggest fears win the next 24 hours.. Now get to work.

2. Own Your Thoughts

Everything you ever wanted is on the other side of fear..

We fear the future, fear what other people think, we fear failure, some even fear success! and the list goes on..

If you let this chatter get inside your head it will keep you paralyzed. This is the fight of your life so take immediate direct again and stay on top of fear, don’t give it a chance to fight back.

Fear has the power to keep people from going after their dreams so destroy fear, before it destroys your future.

3. F.E.A.R. False Evidence Appearing Real

You may have to do some digging in order to conquer your fears.

See, many of these fears that are holding you back from your potential have been thrown onto you by other people.. Your parents, friends, teachers & colleagues all affect you in some way, even if they want the best for you, by trying to keep you ‘safe‘ they might just be holding you back from a truly fulfilling life.

Do not let other people throw their fears and doubts onto you! It will haunt you later on. Dig deep and figure out what makes you tick, talk to a mentor or someone you trust, or if you’re serious about success get a coach. Do whatever it takes to upgrade your mindset and develop the mental tools that will take you to another level.

Courage is the antidote to overcoming your fears. All your dreams could come true if you’re courageous enough to face your fears.

You will build up confidence and fortitude by overcoming your fears.

Fears diminish when you face them, but grow much larger when you run. You can run all you want in life but because your running in the wrong direction you’ll never get close to achieving your dreams.

Remember, the only one holding you back is yourself. Making excuses for why you can’t face your fears will get you nowhere.

The only fear you should have is the fear of being mediocre.

I am deathly afraid of not trying everything I can in this life, and would hate to go to my grave with the music still in me.

When you stop convincing yourself that you’re a victim, you will find your freedom and overcome your fears.

You have the power to determine what type of life you want to live. Fear is just an illusion so why would you let it control you?

Ever find yourself off track with your goals and not where you want to be in life?

I get it, trust me.

I’ve been there more times than I care to remember.

But recently, I started working with a business coach and had a long topic on the conversation.

He said the reason I keep getting off track is that I’m acting on my mood. If I don’t feel like writing, working out, or doing client outreach, then I don’t do it. And that might be why you are constantly falling off track as well..

The key is to forget about how you feel and do it anyway.

As Jim Rohn said, “Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishments.”

You may be lacking self-discipline, which can be improved – if you are determined to make it happen.

Your comeback starts now..

4 Ways to Get Your Life Back on Track

1. Admit You’re Not Where You Want to Be | Get Back On Track

It’s time to be brutally honest with yourself and admit what’s going on.

You can have a conversation with someone you trust or even write down in a journal – honestly & openly, where you currently at in life, what your doing wrong & where you want to be.

Admit there’s a problem and your brain will start working autonomously to find a solution.

If you ignore the problem, it won’t magically get better. In fact, this enforces quitting and will make it worse.

Say what you’re really feeling and then ask yourself.. Why are you feeling this way?

Ask yourself what will happen if you don’t get back on track.. Where will you be in 3 months, 6 months or a year if you don’t change?

Identify your reasons, open yourself up and develop a plan to adapt and overcome.

As the “world’s most disciplined man” Craig Ballantyne said, “Action beats anxiety, motion beats meditation, work beats worry.”

Sometimes sitting around thinking is the worst thing you can do.

Overthinking drains your energy making the problem feel overwhelming, and is the best way to hold yourself back from taking action.

Instead, take consistent small action.

Every great journey began with a single step.

Action cures perfectionism. It helps you create momentum to keep the ball rolling.

3. Celebrate Your Victories | Get Back On Track

Let’s say you’re trying to get into the habit of working out but you’ve ditched the resolution and haven’t seen the inside of a gym in a while.

To reignite your fire, keep it simple and start by doing some push ups or bodyweight lunges at home.

Celebrate this small victory. Pat yourself on the back, get excited, and jump around. Change your physiology to change your mindset.

Small victories lead to bigger results. Your brain loves celebration as the feel good chemical dopamine is release, thus ‘training’ your brain to seek more results.

Now think, what other kinds of victories can you get? Start doing anything you’ve been putting off in small doses and then celebrate!

Victories, no matter how big or small, can change your mood and help you keep going. Creating a new habit in the process.

4. Accountability Is KEY | Get Back On Track

Sometimes you just need someone else to support you on your quest, whether it’s to lose weight, start a business or change the world.

Accountability can be a great way to help you stay disciplined.

Don’t be too proud to enroll in a program or hire a coach to help you stay consistent and maintain productivity.

Over time, discipline does become an automatic habit even when you normally you might of put it off.

Don’t let your lazy brain and feelings get in the way of creating the life of your dreams.

Let’s face it – motivation goes up and down.

Somedays it’s there in abundance, other days you can’t seem to get motivated even if your life depends on it.

Sometimes it’s sleep related, other times it’s procrastination, and other times it’s your ancient brain wanting to be lazy.

To help you get off the couch and accomplish your goals, try these seven ways to help you get instantly motivated. And no, they don’t include any energy drinks.

Use those weird tricks to get motivated and start crushing your goals.

7 Weird Ways To Get Motivated

1. Take Cold Showers | Weird Ways To Get Motivated

To most people, cold showers sound like torture. But they are a secret weapon to help you get motivated and energized every single day.

Wim Hof swears by cold showers and uses special breathing techniques to achieve the seemingly impossible. Wim once hiked Mt. Kilimanjaro shirtless to prove his point.

While you don’t need to go to that extreme, just finish your normal hot showers with a dash of cold. You train your brain to think, “If I can do this, I can do anything.” Plus, it activates the fight or flight mechanism to help get your cells firing rapidly and raring to go.

Cold Showers Could Be a Shocking Shortcut to Success

The Spartans, you know the legendary warriors from ancient Greece, well the Spartans believed cold showers were a source of strength. Cold showers offer a massive range of benefits. If you can train yourself to endure them. But this is exactly what stops people from taking on this lifestyle habit, the minor discomfort they have to endure.

2. Use a Vision Board | Weird Ways To Get Motivated

Have you heard the old saying, “Out of sight, out of mind?”

Well here’s the thing. If you aren’t regularly reviewing your goals, it’s going to be very hard to achieve them. That’s the problem, most people set goals on their computer or in a journal and never review them.

But when you’re trying to achieve something big, you need constant reminders for what you’re trying to do. A vision board is great because it can provide images which help will help program your subconscious to achieve them.

Remember, vision boards are great reminders but you still need to take action to make them happen.

3. Set Reminders on Your Phone | Weird Ways To Get Motivated

The average person looks at their phone 50+ times per day. But if used correctly, your phone can help you stay motivated.

The first way to do it we learned from world-class entrepreneur Ed Mylett. He said to put your biggest goals as your background on your phone like a mini vision board. That way you can program your mind through repetition of what you’re trying to achieve.

The other way to do it is to set reminders or alarms throughout the day. If you’re trying to stay motivated with a new habit, like working out or eating healthy, this is very helpful, just make sure to set the alarm on a daily recurring schedule.

4. Listen to Music | Weird Ways To Get Motivated

Have you ever found yourself feeling lazy, only to hear your favorite song come on and get instantly motivated? That’s the power of music, especially loud music and get to work on your biggest task.

Try to always match your task with the right type of music as well. If you’re in the gym, check out a motivational playlist or something with high energy. If you’re trying to finish a project for work or business, try to play something that will help you focus.

Another great option for increased focus when you’re feeling lazy is binaural beats. These beats aren’t like normal music but instead help your brain stay focused at the task at hand.

Just do a quick Youtube search and you’ll find plenty of binaural beats. They will help you stay focused until your task is complete.

5. Make It Stickk | Weird Ways To Get Motivated

This method isn’t for the faint of heart.

When you need a little extra motivation, a monetary incentive to achieve your goal is very helpful. That’s where Stickk.com comes in.

Once you sign up, enter your credit card and put in an amount of money you’re willing to donate to charity if you don’t complete your goal.

Once you set a goal, timeframe and monetary amount, you choose a referee. This could be a friend or family member that lets you know if something is complete or not.

If you don’t reach your goal, all the money will go to charity.

6. Blood Sugar Buzz | Weird Ways To Get Motivated

Your brain needs two things to create energy: oxygen and glucose. Unfortunately, glucose depletes through the day and you start to become less effective as that happens.

And as your willpower diminishes throughout the day, so does your motivation. The best way to maintain blood sugar levels it to adopt a low glycemic index diet.

By doing this, your body metabolizes the food into glucose at a much slower rate delivering it to your brain consistently, rather than in spurts. This way you avoid those surges of energy followed by huge crashes and the desire to just quit or binge eat.

Or you can try to eat every 2-3 hours so you don’t have huge bursts of ‘hanger’ throughout the day. As I’m sure you know it’s really hard to get motivated when you’re hungry!

7. The Way of the Rooster | Weird Ways To Get Motivated

Everyone has the same 24 hours each day. If you’re waking up at 7 or 8 am and going to bed at the same time as everyone else, you simply don’t have as much time each day.

If you want to make some serious change in your life or business this year, it’s time to learn to wake up earlier.

Waking up early is one of the most common habits of successful people. To get started, ease your way into it, don’t try and make a massive change overnight.

If you’re waking up at 7 am now, don’t start waking up at 5 am tomorrow. Momentum might help in the beginning but it will never last.

Instead, make sure you are easing your way into it in 15-30 minute increments. If your goal is to get up at 5 am and you’re at 7 am now, give yourself 4-8 weeks to make the switch. This will make it easier for you and ensure you’re still getting enough sleep.

And once you’re up early, use some of the other tricks mentioned above to get going. Try and do the hardest thing first so you can build momentum and start the day with a victory.

Hopefully, you can use several or all of these tricks to get instantly motivated and break the laziness. And make sure to mix them up and find what works best for you.

How to Wake Up Early Without an Alarm: The #1 Habit of Success

We all have the same 24 hours each day. Yet, some people accomplish more in a day than others can in a week. Why is that? One of the reasons… They wake up earlier. Studies have shown that the average CEO wakes up at least three hours before they actually go to work.

Most of us grumble and groan when we get stuck viewing a TV advertisement. But once in a generation one comes along that not only gets our attention; it shapes our destiny..

Over the years there have been many classics that make us laugh, cry, and ponder life a little more deeply. These two timeless tour de forces take it one step farther. They help us contemplate the vastly important role we play in shaping our own success. Enjoy these flashback broadcasts that teach us exactly how to step forward in life….

‘Think Different’ Original: Apple, 1997

Twenty years ago Apple experienced incredible growth, tripling their stock price in just one calendar year.

Twenty-one years ago Apple was in trouble and headed towards failed obscurity.

What changed in those 12 months?

It was 1997. Co-founder Steve Jobs had been back at the company for just one year after having been ousted 12 years prior due to poor sales of his Macintosh concept. Now he was interim CEO of a company that was experiencing declining profits and a reputation for making fun artistic toys rather than top-tier business technology. He made a decision: he was going to change everything, the face of the company’s public persona from the ground up.

The outcome of that decision was this anti-establishment masterpiece:

According to the creative director at the agency who designed the advertisement, Jobs initially liked ‘The Crazy Ones’ pitch. Yet he was afraid that his reputation as an egotist might get him “skewered by the press” if he equated Apple with geniuses such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Ghandi. Then Jobs checked himself, saying two words that sent Apple soaring into the history books as the worldwide leader of consumer electronics and media sales:

“Screw it.”

You see, Jobs decided to forge ahead with this legendary advertisement because he’d already learned two valuable life lessons from his early years as an entrepreneurial thought leader:

He’d discovered the value of following his own instincts, rather than giving his power over to naysayers who had no stake in the outcome.

He’d learned to embrace his own unique style, and used that self-love to help the company he’d co-founded soar to unsurpassed heights.

This one commercial went on to generate such enormous buzz that it allowed for the historic and groundbreaking successful launch of the Apple iMacs in 1998.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The ones who see things differently. While some may see them as ‘the crazy ones’, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world – are the ones who do.”

‘Maybe It’s My Fault’: Michael Jordan for Nike, 2008

Nike and ‘Air’ Jordan have an iconic relationship that dates back to 1984 when the sport’s legend laced up a pair of black and red Airships during his rookie preseason. MJ was told in no uncertain terms by the NBA to lose his revolutionary style and conform to his team’s color scheme, as per the rules.

The ‘Banned’ commercial that resulted was a bold move by Jordan, who hadn’t yet shown the world just how it’s done.

His audacity struck many at the time as being overly arrogant, but nearly 25 years later another collaborative project took place between the retail giant and the free throw genius which revealed the secret behind Jordan’s unshakable certainty so many years ago.

As this enlightening advertisement reveals, it was Jordan’s self-confidence and not his arrogance that instigated his decision to stand his ground against the world’s most powerful professional basketball organization. Here’s what we came to understand about this Master Life Manifestor:

Back in 1984 he already knew that his future success was ensured because he’d done the gritty, humbling, limit-pushing hard work that is a requirement of triumph. Every single day.

He’d experienced a life full of failures born from his attitude of risk-taking, and so had learned firsthand that these losses are simply signposts to future successes.

You see, Michael Jordan spent his early years not taking ‘no’ for an answer. That’s why he didn’t even blink when NBA commissioner David Stern declared his sneakers forbidden. He took that rejection, turned it around to made Nike and himself immense profits – and got some new shoes in the process.

With the October release of the Air Jordan XXXIII, it’s good to look back and celebrate Michael Jordan’s prowess both on and off the court. This illuminating quote reveals the true tale of just how champions are made:

“Maybe it’s my fault, maybe I made you think my highlights started at the free throw line and not in the gym. Maybe I made you think that …my game was built on flash and not fire. Maybe it’s my fault that you didn’t see that failure gave me strength. Maybe I led you to believe it was easy. Or maybe you’re just making excuses.” – Michael Jordan

David Goggins – THE INTERVIEW – Transcript

I was in such a dungeon in my life and I thought I was in such a hole… with nowhere to go, with so many issues and so many things to climb over and overcome… But the thing about it is… we all have the ability to come from nothing to something.

I was 300 pounds and my goal was to be a navy seal. Impossible goal. But what if I could?

You have to be willing to suffer to get to the other side. And on the other side of suffering is a whole ‘nother world that people have no idea that it even exists.

Cracked Foundation

From the very beginning, how I became who I am today… I grew up very soft, very insecure, I was beaten as a child, a lot, not only physically, but also mentally. My dad was an alcoholic, so it transferred to him being very abusive of me growing up, not just to me, but also my mother and from that, my foundation at an early age was cracked. I had a very cracked foundation growing up.

So with a cracked foundation and my mom having a cracked foundation, I had no one to really show me the ropes, show me the way… and so we went from that kind of cracked foundation to another cracked foundation. We went to a small town in Indiana. In Brazil Indiana. There were about 5 black families there… so being called “nigger” was something that happened regularly.

I had a lot of friends, but you know, when you have a cracked foundation the only thing you really see is the negative. You don’t see a lot of the people that like you… all you see is the people that don’t like you.
So that cracked foundation just kept on getting more and more cracked and throughout the years I developed a stutter. I had a lot of issues with people, social anxiety… I copied all through school… I had learning disability so I cheated a lot going through school, so my foundation continue to get cracked. And when you get to that point in your life and no one is there to really help you out, you have to figure some things out.

So what made me who I am today is basically seeing that cracked foundation and not liking it. So I had to learn how to mend that cracked foundation alone… and what happens is you have to really develop a lot of mental toughness… but to me mental toughness wasn’t enough. I had to really develop a calloused mind.

Victim Mentality

So, I had a victim mentality. I was a victim. Everybody messed my life up: My dad, society, my mom, whatever it may be… I was dealt a band hand. And so it gives you a victim mentality.
So, I developed a way to get over the victim mentality and it was through callousing the mind. I was literally callusing over the victim’s mentality, through outworking all my faults. So I developed a work ethic that became known as what it is now. So I got this ‘world’s toughest man’ because… I am not the best person in the world… I’m not the smartest… I’m not anything… but I learned to outwork everybody around me and that’s how I got to where I am today.

Living Outside The Comfort Zone

So I don’t live a very glamorous life at all. I live very uncomfortable to a lot of people. It’s not that I’m broke. It’s not that I don’t have the means to do it. It’s like a boxer… A boxer may have a 4 million dollar house. But before a big fight, he may go away to the mountains for about 2 months to train… totally secluded, desolate world, he may sleep on the ground. What that boxer is doing, is he’s trying to form his mentality. He’s trying to get that mentality to a very granimalistic state… so when he goes inside that ring his mentality is ready to do whatever it takes to win that boxing match.

So what I realized from my foundation growing up was that I had a very soft, soft mind. And I live that way now, like that boxer training for that big fight. I live that way all the time. So I’m always sharpening my sword and how I sharpen my sword is I have a mentality of ‘my refrigerator is never full’. I’ve never arrived… and every time I get close to the top of the mountain… I fall back down on purpose.

I believe that the true growth is at scratch. Starting from scratch is true growth. You have to have friction in your life. There has to be friction in your life for you to be able to move forward.

Becoming The Hardest Man On The Planet

So many people call me the hardest man on the planet. I got to the point from having a never ending work ethic. So, if you want anything in life…

We live in a society right now where mediocrity is often rewarded. Mediocrity is almost a standard. And for me, if you live that way that’s when you get beat.

Let’s say you have 10 people. You have 10 people and all of them are mediocre… and you beat those 10 people, in a race or at work, wherever it may be… you are really still mediocre.

What we do in life is we set our standards to everybody else. What we do in life is we look at what someone did before us. We look at a standard. I don’t look at anybody’s standard. I set my own standard… and how I became this ‘hardest man on the planet’ is I literally set my own standards. I started to reinvent the wheel for myself. I didn’t follow the crowd, whatever the crowd was doing. I didn’t follow. I did what I had to do to to get where I had to go…. and in doing that, that’s where true growth is, is finding yourself.

I’m not trying to be like Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods or anybody else, I’m trying to be David Goggins and through that, you can find out what you’re made of. You are always trying to conquer yourself and that’s how I got this title.

Advice For Those Going Through Hard Times

My advice to people who are going through hard times… A lot of people know my story: I come from a very, very humble beginning… You have to be open with that.
Like, for instance social media… All the people on social media… what they do is they show you the best side of them. Everybody on social media, everybody here in this world if you have friends… everybody has 2 sides to them.

We have a side that we want you to see which is our best side. We also have this side that we’re not working on. The side we’re not working on is that side that you want no one to see.

Like on social media … everybody posts where they’re going… I’m going here for vacation… this is me in the gym… this is me here… what I do is I post my bad side. I let everybody know: I’m this I’m this. I’m this. I have to work on all these things. It’s ok.

The first thing is you have to accept the fact that everybody judging you, you judging yourself, it is ok to be f***ed up. It’s ok to not be exactly like everybody else. It’s ok not to follow the crowd. That’s the one thing I would tell people: Don’t worry about what everybody else is doing… Worry about what you’re doing. Focus on what you’re doing. Because everybody else out there… Everybody judging you, They also have problems themselves.

And that’s when I realized myself, so I stopped comparing myself to everybody else and I started comparing myself to me I’m my own hero.

The Underdog In Us All

I believe that a lot more people can relate to the struggle. A lot more than the success. People relate a lot more to that. I relate a lot more to a person who’s the underdog.

Most of us in this world are underdogs. There’s very few of us out here who are the one percenters. Those 1% are those people who are like… the CEO’s, these people who are like the best basketball player, the best golfer… Very few people are there.

It’s those people who are at the very bottom and in the middle… who are trying to get there… It’s all about work ethic.

So, everybody loves the underdog. That’s what that whole Rocky story… Everybody loves the Rocky story. The thing about it is, to develop the Rocky story you gotta work your ass off and not many people are willing to do that part of it.

That’s the hard part about overcoming the odds… Overcoming yourself… Is you have to create a Rocky story. You have to be willing to suffer to get to the other side.

The Rocky Story

So, why I like the Rocky film so much is when I was growing up I didn’t have much of a role model, growing up. So, in between my cheating and me ditching school and all these things I got obsessed with people that I saw my life in their life.
I got obsessed with people who struggled. People who were at the bottom of the doggone sewer. I got obsessed with watching these people.
And I got obsessed with watching (the movie) Rocky 1 – Round 14

And the reason why this specific round is… even to this day, I’m 43 years old… To this day it puts chills in my body. I can go back to when I was 10-11-12 years old… whenever the movie came out.

I remember my first time watching it. I was watching Round 14 of Rocky 1. I’ll never forget watching this guy, who was Rocky getting his butt kicked. Apollo Creed was just knocking him down, beating him up… and all he wanted to do was to go the distance.

And to lot of people, this makes no sense to them but for a kid who is looking for strength… who is looking for like… Is it possible? You’re looking for is it possible?
Can I pull off the impossible? … and me watching this film, that’s what I saw, so… there was a no name boxer against the best boxer in the world, who was Apollo Creed. Now I’m watching this guy in the ring, who is Rocky… he’s getting his butt kicked… Falling down, getting back up.

In the 14th round Apollo is like… just killing this guy but also Apollo is tired. He is extremely tired… But Apollo knocks him down in the 14th round, for like the 30th time… And even Rocky’s coach, Mickey is telling Rocky to stay down… and Apollo turns around. He turns around and he thinks that he got this guy… he thinks he beat him. He thinks he finally took this guy out… this guy that kept coming at him, and coming at him.
Apollo Creed turns around… Puts his arms in the air. He turns his back to Rocky. He’s assuming he’s down. ‘I got him!’

Everybody in the crowd is saying stay down. Everybody. This guy is climbing the ropes to get back up. Totally destroyed. Nothing left. But HE FOUND SOMETHING… And this is the thing about it… He found something!

And I watch this guy get up, and once he gets up, Apollo Creed turns around and sees this… and the look I saw… most people don’t even see this… The look I saw on Apollo Creed’s face was this look of total awe… of Who the hell are you? Who am I fighting?

It looked like Apollo Creed’s soul left his body… and Rocky got his gloves and motioned him to come on… and Apollo Creed put his head down and shook his head.

Why that scene resonates with me so much is that I was such an a dungeon in my life and I feel like I was such in a hole, with nowhere to go, with so many issues and so many things to climb over and overcome on my own…

I wanted every obstacle and every person who ever doubted me to look like Apollo Creed. I wanted the people, obstacles, whatever to look at me like this guy is going to continue coming after me. I wanted what that Rocky had. Just the ability to keep getting up. I don’t care if I win. I don’t care if I’m the best. It’s not about being the hardest man in the world. I just want to keep coming after you.

So through years and years and years of visualizing that scene of that guy just getting up… It’s just a movie to some people… but to me it became what my reality had to become. I had to become that guy. Who could run on broken legs going through hell week. Who could endure the most pain. The most suffering.

To get where I had to go. I’m going to have to be that guy. And a lot of people will never understand that because they don’t have that kind of mindset… but we all have that.

I came from nothing. But the thing about it is… We all have the ability to come from nothing to something. But it takes that kind of spirit.

Remind Yourself Who You Are – “The Cookie Jar”

The cookie jar is something that I developed years ago. So what happens to me, happens to a lot of us in situations… We get put in these… My whole life I’ve been put in struggles… I’ve put myself in struggles… I’ve purposely put obstacles in front of me to see how I’m going to feel, like for instance I’ve run over 200 miles at one time… non stop. Do you know what goes through you mind… when your goal is to run for 200 miles and you’re at mile 100? You’re at mile 100. You’ve run for over 24 hrs and your body is broken. You’re destroyed. You have nothing left. You have 100+ more miles to go. How do you find more?

So I developed this thing called the cookie jar. So the cookie jar is a reminder. It’s all that is. It’s a reminder. Even the hardest person on planet earth… we forget how badass we are. When times get hard… When times get hard your mind spazzes out. It freaks out. It goes somewhere else. We forget.

That cookie jar… You gotta take 1 second. Take 1 second and that cookie jar has all these things in it… All the things you overcame… All the things that you suffered through… All the things that got in your way and you fought through.
So you go in your mental cookie jar, when you’re going through bad times… When you wanna quit and you wanna bailout… You think about it… Ok, David what did you do? You went through 2 hell weeks. You went through ranger school. You went through this. You went through that. It’s a reminder that you are that badass. And that’s all it is.

The cookie jar is, you take 1 second when you’re in an extreme environment and your mind and your body are saying: We’re done. We need to quit. You can remind yourself: Hang on a second! I’ve been through a hell of a lot more than this and I had the strength to persevere, to move on, to not be mediocre, to not settle for what’s in front of me. To overcome the odds.

WHAT IF You Could? – The “What If Mentality”

The What If mentality is a mentality of… a lot of us in this world have people who say we can not do something.

You can’t do it. You’re too short. You look a certain way. You act a certain way. You’re not smart enough…
I hit that roadblock every time. I was 300 pounds. I’ll never forget, I was 300 pounds… I went from 175 to 300 ponds and my goal was to be a navy seal… Impossible goal. And Navy recruiter that saw me said that, besides one. Every recruiter said: There’s no way, man. You’re 297 pounds and you’re going to lose so much weight so fast.

I talked to one recruiter… I’ll never forget, getting back in my truck and he said: “You can not do this” I got in my truck and I said to myself “But what if I could?” What if… I could pull up this miracle? How will I feel at the very end if I can defy all the odds?

The what if mentality is… this guy told me: I was a 36 African American navy seal in navy seal history, in over 70 years. This guy told me there’s only 35 African Americans to ever be a navy seal. He was pretty much telling me: You ain’t got what it takes. I took that and said: “ What if I could be the 36th?”. Versus taking what he said… All the negativity he’s putting on be because he cant imagine himself do what I’m about to do.

So, most people who can’t imagine it they reflect. It’s like a mirror. They put that right on you. If they can’t see themselves doing it: I can’t see you doing it, I take that mirror and I totally discard it. I say What if I could be the 36th person to ever do it? I use all the negativity as positivity and fuel to get me to where I need to go.

What Drives The Hardest Man On The Planet?

What drives me today is being my best… and being my best is a never ending journey. A lot of people call me obsessed. That’s fine. I probably am obsessed.

When you finally realize … Like, for me, that humble beginning I had… When you realize that I could have literally given up and right now at 43 I could still be a 300 pound man spraying for cockroaches.

It’s truly amazing that a lot of us walk this planet earth being a fraction of what we’re capable of being.

I look back when I was 24 years old and that could have been my 100% if I chose to take the path of least resistance. That could have been my 100%… Never knowing that in that 300 pound body… The kid who couldn’t read, 4th grade reading level… is now a person that’s been through almost every special ops training in the world, has broke several records and has continued to grow.

Once you realize what’s on the other side of that… That will keep you… I’m the most driven person in the world because I realized that I was leaving so much on the table never knowing that inside that fat guy was this person here.
And once you peel that crust away and see who you really are, you open you mind to a whole ‘nother world. So I’ve opened my mind up to a whole ‘nother world that most people can’t even fathom because they haven’t dug deep into their own personal problems.

They think I’m crazy because I found a whole ‘nother way of living. I think they’re crazy for never even trying… to get to the other side of whatever is in front of them.

So what drives me every day is finding more of myself.

How To Break The Habit of Making Excuses

So how do I suggest to someone how to break the habit of constantly making excuses… Is do something every day that sucks.

There’s a saying out there… There’s a saying the says: “Triple down on your strengths”… Tripling down on your strengths does 1 thing to you… It makes you very comfortable. It makes you very strong at what you’re good at.

So, why people have excuses is that’s the world they live in… They live in a world where if they’re good at running: All they do is run. If they’re good at reading: All they do is read. So the excuse world comes up because when the world, life doesn’t give a damn about what you’re good at… so when a challenge comes up that you’re not great at the first thing this ‘triple down’ mentality does is it forces you to say “I’m not good at it”… “ So I’m not going to do it”
Versus saying “I’m not good at it… I’m going to be great at it” I’m going to figure out. I wanna put the work in… That’s how you start to callus your mind.

The excuses that we’re making are just because we’re not good at it. So, it makes us feel insecure. It makes us feel a certain way.

That’s why I tell everybody: You can not fix anything in life until you fix YOURSELF.

Look Inside Yourself

A lot of people give great advice… How many people do you know in your life that give great advice? They give the best advice on planet earth… but their lives are all jacked up.

No one looks inside themselves… because what they see inside is ugly. It’s full of lies. It’s full of secrets. It’s full of insecurities. Once you dive into that you have no more excuses, because you start ripping away those layers of insecurities… On the other end of those layers is exactly who you truly are.

So do something everyday that sucks. Get outside your comfort zone. Triple down on your weaknesses… Not your strengths. Thats how you grow. That’s how you stop making excuses

You Can’t Hurt Me – David Goggins Interview

So my book’s coming out Dec 4th… Its called “Can’t hurt me”… Why I titled it ‘Can’t hurt me’ is, this book is a self help memoir. We have a whole bunch of self help books out there that are 5 step… 5 step this… Mine is not a 5 step program. Mine is about getting to the root of the problem… and the root of the problem is yourself.

You have to master your own mind. Once you master your own mind everything else is taken care of.

So, ‘Can’t hurt me’ is about LIFE. It’s about YOU. It’s about my mentality… But you get to develop your own mentality.

So, life is full of people who are getting bullied, People who are insecure. People who’re going through problems… A lot of problems… But if you have this mentality that you start to develop of you can’t hurt me…

When I was going through seal training… it’s what you say to yourself on a daily basis… If you say You cant hurt me! Every time I got my assed kicked, in everything I did… Whether it be a fight or test… Ranger school… Can’t hurt me! It starts to get in your mind and before you know it: It’s the truth.

So when you fail, you fall on your ass… Somebody bullies you… Whatever is going in your life: Can’t hurt me!
Why that saying is true, is not because you SAY IT… You have to put the work in to develop that calloused mind… to believe it’s true.

Self Talk – David Goggins Interview

So, a lot of people want to know what I say to myself when I’m out here doing these long events. My self talk.

David, when you’re out there and you’re at mile 75 of 135 mile run through death valley… Well, I tell myself… back in the day I was the weakest person that God ever created. That’s what I thought. I made this man to be the hardest man that god ever created Is it true? I don’t care if it’s true or not. I believe it.

But, a lot of people… like these books: Self talk, Visualization… Self talk doesn’t mean anything… you can tell yourself you’re the best person to ever live… Self talk without the work… without the work is just lies.
So I’m telling myself I’m the hardest man on the planet… When I’m in the worst situation possible… I’m going back to the 3 hours I’ve put into training everyday… I’m going back to the 3am wakeup call Looking at my shoes thinking God, 75 days in a row. No days off. Running 15 miles a day. I don’t wanna do it And then you lace them up!

So, when I’m in that horrible spot and I’m talking to myself… I’m also recalling all the training sessions… All the years… All the hard work… So, when I talk to myself that way: The self talk is REAL… It’s not lies.
Because if you’re taking a test in school and you haven’t studied for it and you say I’m going to pass this test… chances are you’re going to fail it. Because you haven’t put the time in to get the result of passing.
So self talk is good but putting the work in is bigger.

Don’t Talk About It… BE ABOUT IT!

There’s a lot of people in life who are theorists. Theorists are people who… it may be that guy in the corner who’s in the library all day long… Old man with grey hair… he’s the master of the mind… of being a theorist. He got all of these books… Read about how the brain is supposed to work. That’s a theorist. He has all these theories on how it’s supposed to be done.
You want to be a practitioner in life. A lot of people who study theories will put these bars… these invisible bars and barriers in your mind about what we can and can not achieve as human beings. That’s a theorist
A practitioner will listen to a man, like a theorist and defy the odds.

Never be a theorist. Be a practitioner. Be a guy who goes up there and actually does the work. Put yourself in situations, like when I was going through hell week… I got to see where my mind was.
130 hours. At hour 48, 72 your mind is a mess. You’re all over the place. A theorist would tell me what he thinks is going to happen. A practitioner dives into suffering and as he’s suffering he is then writing the book while he’s suffering.

It’s easy to write a book while you are in a nice 72 degree library. Flipping the page. A practitioner writes a book when he’s in hell. When he’s in suffering. When it’s 50 degree water… Everybody’s quitting… Snot’s coming out your nose… That’s how you really start to figure out what the mind and body are capable of.

Don’t read a book about it Don’t read what some man wrote. Put yourself in the environment. See how you start to talk to yourself in the worst times… In the worst situations.
And that’s how you start to develop that real self talk. That real visualization… The real tools to get through those hard times.

You have to be willing to suffer to get to the other side… and on the other side of suffering is a whole ‘nother world that people have no idea it even exists.

Do you have trouble staying positive in life? Does it feel like some days you can’t seem to break out of your negative state?

If you’re struggling, I understand. Battling negativity is in our DNA as the average person has 70,000 thoughts per day. Of those thoughts, 70% of them are negative!

This isn’t your fault either, it’s your brains survival mechanism. While life isn’t always easy to deal with work, family, relationships and so much else, you can reshape your outlook. You can push back against those negative thoughts.

To give yourself the best chances to succeed in life, you need to stay positive. Start using the tips to set yourself up for success:

Five Ways to Stay Positive in Life

1. Start Your Day With Positivity

As Robin Sharma said, “If you win the morning, you win the day.” For the most part, how you start your day usually sets the tone for the rest of your day.

This is why it’s crucial to set up a morning routine that builds momentum and confidence every morning. For some of you, this might feel like a struggle to avoid your phone and focus on habits that build positivity. But it’s crucial to start the day with early wins.

Start your day with inspiring videos, read motivational articles, meditate, read self-help books or listen to podcasts while you’re exercising. The smallest things can make the biggest differences in your mood and positivity.

2. Exercise On a Regular Basis

As you know by now, exercise is crucial for achieving your best life. Not only do you feel good but you’ll look good which can help increase confidence and positivity.

Plus, you’re going to have more mental focus and strength to help fight off some of those pesky negative thoughts.

3. Follow Your Passion

Are you passionate about your job or business? If you find yourself constantly down and out, it could be your job robbing you of your happiness. Instead, find a way to do something you feel excited about.

If you can’t just switch careers or start a new business there are other options as well. Start by volunteering for a cause you believe in or sign up for a class to learn something new.

There are a ton of studies that have shown people feel happier when helping others. As Tony Robbins always says, “The secret to living is giving.”

4. Start a Meditation Practice

Meditation seems to be the new hip and cool thing with apps, classes, and workshops but it’s been around for centuries. Meditation is to your brain like your cell phone charger is to your phone.

Even a few minutes of meditation can have a huge effect on your mind and body. Regular meditators are calmer, have greater self-awareness and have better focus too.

5. Create Positive Environments

You are a product of your environment so make sure to choose it carefully. Your home and work environment plays a huge role in creating a positive, optimistic outlook on life.

To be able to stay positive it is essential to have influences in your life that support you and lift you up instead of dragging you down. Make sure your friends, family, and environment make it easy to think positive.

If someone is dragging you down, stop hanging out with them. Not only will this remove these toxic people from your life, but it’ll also free up room to meet new, like-minded people.

Remember, it’s the little things that will make a huge difference in changing your mood from negative to positive. Start by making these five simple shifts and watch how much happiness and clarity you receive into your life.

Have you ever wondered why some people THRIVE under pressure, but some others crack and crumble? Have you ever wondered why some people are always on the search for more, seeming never content, and always conquering new challenges, yet others remain stagnant, seemingly uninterested in self development or self improvement?

Have you ever wondered why some people see working for themselves as a great risk, while others see it as an absolute must?

The answer lies in their mindset.

Some people have what is called a “FIXED MINDSET” and some have a “GROWTH MINDSET”

Take for example, receiving critical feedback.
Someone with a FIXED MINDSET might view it as a personal attack, and not learn anything from the feedback, or USE IT to improve or grow.
While the one with a GROWTH MINSET might use the feedback to learn how to improve in the future.

These two mindsets are the reason you see PROBLEMS or CHALLENGES.

Mountains or mere hurdles.
These two mindsets can have a huge influence on your life

The two mindsets were first identified by Carol Dweck who wrote the book, Mindset: The New Psychology of Success.
Let’s go over them in more detail:

The Two Types of Mindsets

1. Fixed Mindset

Fixed mindsets people might think “I’ve been this way and I’ll always be this way.”

The fixed mindset doesn’t see possibilities or opportunities. It sees things how they’ve always been, and expects that is how they will continue to be.

But of course, that just not true. You have the ability to change and improve ANY situation, as soon as you change and improve your MINDSET.

According to the author, “In a fixed mindset, people believe their basic qualities, like their intelligence or talent, are simply fixed traits. They spend their time documenting their intelligence or talent instead of developing them. They also believe that talent alone creates success—without effort.”

Fixed Mindset Examples

Easily threatened when others around them are successful

Shying away from challenges and projects that require more work

Give up very easily when things go wrong

Avoid failing at all costs because if they fail there is no way to succeed in the future. These individuals think their destiny is determined.

2. The Growth Mindset

Here’s how the author defined a growth mindset:

“In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work—brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment.”

Those who live with a growth mindset tend to believe they can develop into anyone, and achieve anything through hard work and dedication.

These individuals think of tough situations as challenges, not threats. They see each obstacle as an opportunity to grow and develop.

While people with fixed mindsets tend to be negative and afraid of failing, people with a growth mindset are the exact opposite. They rarely fear failure as they know no failure is permanent and they usually bounce back very fast from any failure.

Growth Mindset Examples

They seek out challenges to grow and become a better version of themselves.

They use others achievements and successes as motivation to succeed.

The persevere when things get difficult.

They se feedback to their advantage. The sooner they can take feedback the sooner they can learn from it and make progress.

So, what Mindset Do You Have?

A fixed mindset that avoids challenges or a GROWTH mindset that SEEKS challenges?

A fixed mindset that seeks comfort or a GROWTH mindset who is never comfortable?

Keep in mind you are not BORN with these mindsets. You’ve developed them throughout your life journey, and you can develop a NEW MINDSET if that is your choice.

There’s no right or wrong mindset… but if you want to ACHIEVE certain things, it would certainly help to develop a GROWTH MINDSET.

If you want more peace and comfort in your life, maybe you would like to take a step back and develop more of a FIXED MINDSET… if you do, please leave this page immediately as our content is not for FIXED MINDS.

May you all be blessed and GROW into the VERY BEST VERSIONS of yourselves.

Changing Perceptions About Healthy Body Shapes

Do you have a healthy body shape? For many people, the answer is defined solely by how much they weigh or whether they have a perfect hourglass figure. Many individuals focus their attention on measurements such as their chest, waist, and hip size, or they step on a scale to tally up the pounds. Sadly, many people judge their own and others’ health, and sometimes personal value, based on these numbers.

Step Off the Scale and Away From the Measuring Tape

The truth is that there’s a wide range of healthy body shapes and sizes. Rather than defining good physical health by shape and size, a more accurate approach to determining good health is through measurements of blood pressure, cholesterol levels, emotional health, and overall well-being. It’s easy to assume that a person with more belly fat is less healthy than a slender person. However, there are many, many factors that determine health. For example, a person with a slim build may look thin but have a larger percentage of body fat than another person with a different body type.

Perceptions About Heavy Bodies

In modern society, there’s a pervasive idea that extra weight means poor health. Assumptions are made about a person’s eating habits, self-control, self-esteem, and activity levels. All too often, when an individual carries extra weight, others assume that the individual can’t or won’t enjoy many physical activities. This is a stereotype that has been busted by athletes, such as Myrna Valerio, a marathon and ultramarathon runner recognized for her success.
It’s important to remember that body types and shapes are often heavily affected by genetics. Your genetic family history determines your bone structure, where you carry extra fat, your frame size, and the speed of your metabolism. The key to identifying healthy bodies lies in identifying the habits of the individual, not in taking their measurements.

Why Changing Perceptions Is Important

Why is it important to change society’s ideas about excess weight and heavy body types? Your perception of yourself does have an impact on your ability to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. When an individual believes s/he is overweight, s/he may have an intention to lose weight, but studies have found that it doesn’t inspire actual changes in diet and exercise. Conversely, when adolescents believe they are overweight, they are more likely to fall into unhealthy, and sometimes dangerous, habits.

Factors That Affect Body Image Perception

The deck is stacked against women, men, teens, and children who believe they are overweight. Every day, they are bombarded with messages about ideal body shapes and sizes. Advertisements on television, in magazines, and on the internet flaunt thin bodies, clearly defined muscles, narrow waists, and photo-edited skin. Adults, teens, and children face criticism from peers and feel pressure to mimic current trends whether they are healthy or not. Messages from companies selling diet plans and exercise equipment often add to existing stereotypes.

Negativity Doesn’t Lead to Positive Changes

Each of these messages tells the individual who feels overweight or underweight that they are somehow less than the people in those visual images. Remember that a negative perception of your own body does not lead to positive changes.

Recognize the Beauty of Your Body

At womenshealth.gov, a healthy body image is defined as positive feelings about your particular body shape. Those women and girls with a positive body image tend to enjoy better physical and mental health – even if they are overweight or underweight. Conversely, those who have negative feelings about their bodies are at greater risk for eating disorders and other mental health conditions. That negative body image may prevent men, women, and children from going out socially, exercising, or making healthy dietary choices.

Developing a Positive Body Image

One of the best ways to improve your perception of your own body is to focus on positive thinking rather than negative thinking. The National Eating Disorders Association recommends several tips for improving the way you think and feel about your body. For example, take time to really appreciate the things your body can do, such as breathing, laughing, and walking. Surround yourself with others who have a healthy, positive outlook on life. Cut out negative social media and any messages that limit your definition of what a healthy body looks like.

The next step is to focus on the things you can control in your life. After accepting your body shape and size, celebrate your own unique qualities and understand that you can enjoy a healthy, fulfilling life whether you’re a size 2 or a size 32. Learn how to make healthy eating decisions and find ways to incorporate exercise and physical activity into your days. Identify and look up to new role models, such as Christa Singleton, one of a group of Plus-Size Climbers who climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro in 2016. Refusing to let her size define her, Singleton is breaking through conceptions about size and health.

Get Treatment for Eating Disorders

If you’ve experienced or are experiencing eating disorders, seek treatment during this process. Again, there are many negative beliefs that may hold you back when the subject of eating disorders come up. Amelia Boone, an elite athlete, knows this all too well. Stories like Amelia Boone and her eating disorder treatment aren’t uncommon among athletes, but these stories aren’t often shared with the public. Move past the misconceptions and seek appropriate treatment.

Recognize the Things You CAN Change

If you are struggling with a negative self-image or the desire to make improvements in your life. You might start by changing your own ideas and discussions about the “ideal” body shape and size. Remember that your strength lies in conquering the things you can control without succumbing to popular ideas about body shape or despairing because of genetic factors you can’t change.

Being prepared is one thing but over-preparing is a dangerous habit to let enter your life. Overthinking might be worse than not thinking through something at all.

As Tony Robbins says, “The only way to succeed is to take massive determined action.”

When you overthink a situation it’s easy to get analysis paralysis and it might feel impossible to take the first step. But one of the habits of all successful people is that they take action. Even if they aren’t ready, they are always taking action.

You can learn how to stop overthinking and start achieving too with these seven proven methods.

7 Ways to Learn How To Stop Overthinking

1. Think About It All Going Right

Whenever you take on a new endeavor it’s so easy to think about it failing. Our brains are literally wired for this type of negative thinking.

But if you want to learn how to stop overthinking you have to think about it working more than it failing. Imagine a business taking off or getting the physique you’ve always wanted. Spend more time visualizing everything going right instead of wrong!

2. Get Rid of Perfection

If you’re waiting for the right time to start your business or begin a big goal, don’t wait until the perfect time. In fact, there is no time better than now.

Perfectionism has killed more dreams than failure ever will. Quit chasing perfection and start taking action.

3. Learn to Love Fear

Fear holds most people back as much as the need to have everything perfect. Instead of being fearful, remember that every opportunity is a chance for a new beginning. Just because you were scared and something failed in the past doesn’t mean it will happen again.

Remember the most successful people in the world still experience fear too. But they don’t let it hold them back from achieving their biggest dreams.

4. Understand What You’re Feeling

Self-awareness is another common habit of successful people. If you’re not self-aware it’s incredibly easy to overthink even little things.

Sometimes you need to mix up your environment, spend time alone or meditate to find clarity. Once you understand how you’re feeling you can learn what you need to change to take massive action.

5. Step Away From The Problem

Sometimes it’s hard to walk away from a problem you’re trying to solve. But often times that’s what you need to do. Quit staring at your screen hoping the answers will magically appear.

Take time to exercise, go to the movies, hang out with friends or spend time in nature. Often times a little break will help you stop overthinking and start achieving your goals.

6. Learn to Love Failure

Understand that failure is inevitable in your career or business and in life. Once you understand that failure is part of the process you can stop overthinking and start taking action.

Failure isn’t’ meant to tell you to quit. Instead, use failure to show you a way that didn’t work!

7. Create Urgency

Sometimes overthinking happens because you give yourself too much time to complete a project. Instead, set a firm deadline.

If you need to write something for work give yourself 60 minutes and set a timer. Often times deadlines can help you quit thinking and start moving.

Hopefully, these seven tips will help you learn how to stop overthinking and start achieving anything. Remember that quantity produces quality. Take action and fail your way to success.
